Most insurance companies are easy to deal with on simple small one time claims, the issues come in when there are major losses or injuries envoled.

Or when things are questionable, this is the time when you need to bring in an attorney.

A friend I know had his out board motor stolen off a fishing boat in only 5 minutes while at a fast food joint and the insurance company denied the claim as it sounded fishy to them, but it was a valid claim. My friend didn't bother using an attorney and just wrote it off. But it taken to court they would have to pay up.

You will find this tactic used during muliple fault auto claims and during a lot of home damage claims, to deny them or stone wall the client.

They're likely the cheapest option (for my Mustang, I pay just over $75/mo for 300k/300k/100k limits and a $1MM umbrella), but the way they handle repairs is laughable.

All corporations are evil and heartless -- entities aimed purely at profit.

Insurance is a complete fucking racket.

Call around, and just get the cheapest and most reputable you can afford.

Default Insurance as racket

I don't agree that all corporations are evil. They are all impersonal and by definition heartless as, irregardless of how they are considered under law, they are not people and exist only to make money. More a matter of being amoral than immoral IMHO.

In any case, tort law is also a racket, and it sometimes takes one to fight one.

That and the simple fact that, being human, every time you get behind the wheel you are taking a certain risk that you will kill or maim other people going about minding their own business. I once went with the cheapest option and got away with it but many people who had an accident during that time are 20 years along still having their wages garnished or otherwise impacted paying damages that they had a paid a bankrupt insurance company to cover. Having an insurance card is not always the same thing as being insured. Ask the billing clerk at any hospital or doctors office.

Hell even 99% of charities are corrupt with scams and excessive operational costs. The basic facts of life illustrate that anything to do with money has corruption and graft all over it and would sell anyone or thing out for a $1

My friend was an adjuster for Geico. He hated it as much as the customers. He is back working for USAA now.

I'm insured with USAA, but I think consumer guru Clark Howard has always talked well of Amica.

I have been with state farm for ever. I received new info with my insurance card last week. State farm now spells out that if you go to the track for fast driving, not just racing they will not cover any damage. (A Given).

It also stated that if you have any modifications on your car beyond what your car comes stock with State farm will not cover any of the non-stock parts if damged or stolen.

Also they will use new, used or rebuilt parts and non-OEM parts to fix your car.(I think this may be state by state as I think Cali states they have to use new OEM parts if requested). I bring this up because this is the first time I have seen them come out with a statement like this.

I wouldn't use State Farm or Allstate ever again. My wife and me have perfect records and they tried to raise our rate by 30% for no reason. No claims nothing.... We had all the best insurance with them both. Requoted through other agents ... Still same high price. I went to Mercury except for Motorhome which was cheaper with Progressive.
Insurance make their own rules and if you haven't been in a accident in a while they figure your going to wreck soon so they bump you off. Weird. No loyality at all. In total, I have over 15 policies with Mercury and Progressive and only pay $3300 per year in insurance. That includes cars, houses, boats, MH, life and earthquake etc...
Never again will I give one red cent to Allstate or State Farm. You should have seen the hoops that Allstate sent us through before we had enough and took our policies away. Can you imagine tracking your mileage every six months and reporting it on 8-10 vehicles? Nighmare.... Oh and the policies were supposed to have unlimitted mileage clause. They must have thought I was renting my cars out or something. Idiots.

Newest addition -2013 Chevy Volt ... 273ft lbs of torque from 0 rpm. Not too bad folks.... Maybe ELR in my future?

With AllState your in good hands...... Thats who I have and they are real good, I have never had a problem. My old 350z was keyed and I placed a claim and had no issues. My home and two other cars are insure through Allstate.

Same here. State farm isn't THAT much more expensive. But I have yet to have a claim issue with them. They basically just verify something happened and start dishing out checks. They have treated me well so I've been with State Farm for a long time now.

Currently have my Nismo, 2002 malibu, and a 1995 pathfinder, and renters insurance for like 700-800 ( I don't know exactly) bucks yearly with full coverage.

So on my laptop I put in www.usaa.com and General Insurance | General Auto Insurance | Car Insurance Quotes loads. What could be causing that? Some spyware?
