Interesting Pint, If they find an issue again, try to have them elaborate on where it is coming from & don't let them blow you off because your a girl either . Do you leave coolant on the ground? Hopefully not a head gasket, no white smoke right? Just curious to what they found, & having supposedly fixed it and have it return is another Hope they get to the bottom of it for you

No and No. I can smell it when the hood is open though but heck if I know what to look for. Might take her in after I get her front end repainted.

Yeah Pint, if you can smell it, you still have a leak. Might be small, but like I said if you smell it there's a leak. Definitely have them take care of that & get them to give you details of what they did to fix it. Keeping a history is always important so when you talk to them again you can voice your concerns with a little tech knowledge to back it up

Good luck

Bought my '10 at the end of March 2010.

First 3 weeks of ownership, I had to drive on a dirt road to get to work.

DIY Installed EVO-R LED Fog Light, accidentally let it ground and popped fuse in mysterious 3rd fuse box. Took 3 hours and extensive forum/Elec. owners manual to figure out where/how/what fuse to replace.

I have a base + sport so I could put in my own stereo. Have 2x 10's in the back in a Zenclosures box. Amp mounted to box so whole setup is roughly 100lbs-ish? Sitting right on top of rear axle. Tried to install Eibach lowering springs. Rear end squatted and gave me dangerously negative camber that could not be adjusted to fix. Initially I thought the boot cup was left out during install, but after visual inspection the boot was still there. I thought since buying them used maybe they had settled to the car differently. This was not the case. Ended up having to get spring spacers that snap in to regain ride height. 2 days later had to have stock springs reinstalled.

tl;dr Don't have a sub box and Eibach's. Not suited for extra weight on top of axel.

Attempted to paint Door handles. Had them primed and painted, all they needed to do was dry. Sitting out on deck wall, on the 1 day in Phoenix it decided to rain... Door handles had a "turtleskin-like" texture. Had to strip and repaint them.

Most recently, ordered a set of winter wheels/tires from TireRack. On the website they would clear Sport pkg BBK. Ordered and went to install. Fitment was extremely tight, but on jacks, there was clearance. Went for quick test run, one wheel started scraping the caliper. Got it back home asap but the damage was done. Caliper was scraped all to hell and the inner bore of the wheel was pretty gouged as well. Though not completely, ended up the wheel itself isn't true. So had to ship them back and TR shipped me a new wheel/tire set (different wheel).

(Knock on wood) I haven't had any of the Main 370 related issues, but I still have my own with mine. I need to find out how to get the stronger rear hatch springs because I have to manually pull mine up after hitting the button once to get it to release.

Also have some weird vibration noise coming from between the trunk interior panels and rear body panel. So I have no idea what/where it is... Really annoying to me.

The title doesn't mention "Problems from the Factory" so there.

Problems = Problems

Op,

You've seemed to have the two common things out of the way, And if you've already upgraded to oil cooler?

Your Z should be trouble free here on out.

I've been pretty blessed and have NOT had any issue's (knock on wood) up to Now.

I have an 09 that just hit 19k miles on it. Luckily no real problems so far. I had it since June 2011 with 10k miles on it. It's my DD but I'm close to work and besides to and from work it in the garage bc we take my wife's car every where else. I was on the steering lock bypass waiting list before it was even finished being designed. Lock failure was by biggest fear so I made sure to get that out of the way. Made sure i didn't have oil consumption issues before I modded and ran out of warranty. Got the trunk springs replaced before warranty ran out. Then added my oil cooler. Been using redline since day one and changing every 3 months since I don't drive far. Did a trans fluid change and will do it yearly and diff fluid every 5k miles. Last is the CSC if I have the extra cash flow to do it along with clutch and flywheel before it fails I will. If not I will when and if it fails. Bc that's a lot of money up front to fix something that isn't broken. So for me so far so good. Like another member said do your research first see what's out there and try to take care of the items you can. Pretty much every car has some issues and the ones that don't probably aren't worth owning/driving. Last thing I noticed my upper radiator hose getting some coolant residue around the neck, so some Z1 hoses are going on today to take care of that.

The other question that should be asked (or axed) is "How much has my Z put up with my driving?"

My only annoying issue was with the CSC. Warrant covered master cylinder, CSC, and hoses, and labor. Had to put up with a ford fiesta that I though I was pedaling to get around.

Yes on my picky list the trunk rattles, I have a oem header leak at start up, and I get some strange ticking on acceleration above 4k.

I need to take it to the dealer and let that super warranty I bought fix everything while I enjoy the loaner.
