$80-90 to have 2 tires shipped? Help me out
I'm looking to buy 2 tires off of someone in Cali and having it shipped to me in NYC. I read up on a bunch of google links how people are shipping a pair of tires for ~$45 by using UPS Ground and just wrapping the tires in tape and slapping a shipping label on it, no box or packaging. The seller and myself have been quoted $80-90, and I've called about 3 different UPS stores to confirm. So what the hell guys?
Fyi, it's 2 19" tires and weighs 23lb each, so 46lb total. |

Where in CA is this guy? I might be able to help you guys out. I get about 40-50% off my shipping You can try shipnex.com too, although I think they charge you the $8 after the fact |
Sears, the first tire store I found with a Web search, charges $20.04 to ship one tire (picked at random). They probably get a volume discount from the shipper, so $45-50 for two should be close. Try posting a comment at the place(s) you saw the info and ask for details.

also, if you go to usps.com, choose the pull down for ship a package, and follow the directives, you can get your shipping prices.
