Problem with my Civic I don't want happening to my new Z
Maybe I'm the only one, but there's a odd noise that seems to originate from the passenger's seat during rapid acceleration and taking turns to the point of squealing the tires. It doesn't happen all the time, but the screeching noise is loud and only seems to happen at the worst time, when the fiance is in the car. And, it's not always a screech, sometimes it's a yelp, a squeak, or even a (I know it sounds weird) a crying sound.
It aggravates me because I'm afraid the noise upsets her. Each time I look over to investigate the noise, I can see on her face that she's really upset about the noise. The reason I bring this up is that I'm getting my first Z on Monday and I want to ensure this noise isn't common with this car as much as I hear it with my Civic. Any suggestions? |

Absolutely understand. I had the same problem with the wife and the Eclipse I had before the Z. Fortunately, there is a solution, and a simple one, and seems easier to accomplish once you upgrade from "girlfriend" to "wife".
Enjoy the Z with an empty passenger seat.

I can not imagine it's her. By the time I look and ask questions about the noise, she's so upset about the noise, she won't discuss it. Really, she won't discuss much of anything after the noise for the rest of the drive most of the time.

Sorry if I'm not understanding OP, but from the sound of it you need new tires or a more exciting** girl! But seriously, maybe get an alignment or new tires, should help with bringing down the screeching.

I'm just yanking everyone. I'm just excited about getting the new Z in 36 hours and passing time by story-telling and browsing the forums. (yes, I'm counting the hours/minutes). It's always my fiance that makes the noise when I have to pull the e-brake to correct understeer on the FWD civic. For some strange reason, the more noise she produces, the more I want to force the car to make noises. /I might be a jerk |

I always baby my car when my girl is in it with me, drive it super smooth and relaxed, makes it enjoyable for her as well. Unless she tells me to punch it which she does sometimes
