The rest of the world does not want to wait for power, when the gas is pressed, they want the desired results now, not in a few seconds.

INSTANT GRATIFICATION!!!!!!

Yeah, this would be more important than the actual amount of weight lost. 3000 lbs would be nice, but if we were 3150lbs with a smaller engine, slightly longer nose and the engine pushed all the way back? That would definitely work. The VQ37 is far back in the Z but the engine is kinda big for the space under the hood.

a potential Z engine?

A new 550+-horsepower Infiniti flagship sedan is in the pipeline, confirmed Infiniti boss Johan de Nysschen in an open letter to Infiniti owners on Wednesday.
He said the new performance sedan will get a "potent charged induction V6."
The new Infiniti flagship sedan is expected to target the Jaguar XF.

I highly doubt it. They're not going to give the Z as much power as a GT-R. Maybe they'll give the Z just the N/A version of that engine.

:iagree:

The GT-R is at what, 585 or so I think? Throwing a 550hp engine into the Z, which is already considerably lighter and the next model "should" be lighter still, is going to make it more or less on the same level as the GT-R. Granted the GT-R has launch control so it would get the initial jump; once the Z got full traction, I imagine it would walk the GT-R from that point.

On top of that, the Z has been following the G line, so look there for clues.

I didn't think so either but some variation of this same "potent charged induction V6."

Your right with the exception that a properly sized turbo will have little to no lag dude. Especially those twin scroll units. Granted most factory cars are not so equiped but some are.

Well their V8 versions offer more HP/$ than the Z. The 5.0 is definitely a better performance bargain and has more mod potential.

HP/$ does not equal Performance/$ sorry...Ford has proven that by building a strait line performer not an all around sports car. I am talking about handling in case I'm not implying it.

Please do not mention the Boss 302 as it is not in the price point of the Z and therefore irrelevant.

The 5.0 does give more Performance/$ than the Z as well and that includes around a road course. Have you looked at prices for a Boss 302? You can get a Boss 302 for around the same price as a Nismo 370Z so it is definitely relevant.

You don't need sports package. Much like wider tires on an FRS, it takes away from it being a "driver's car" and in reference to the Mustang, "better balance".
