Those that have had the dealer fix steering lock

What was the turn around time on that? I'm towing mine into the dealer this monday

Jasonle 11-30-2012 09:56 AM

mine took about a week cause they had to order the part...they gave me a loaner.

They've had mine for the past week. The dealer is saying it should be done today. They had to order the part as well.

This situation is absolutely inexcusable. Nissan should be taken to Court to force a recall. I've pulled the fuse on my car but having to do such "fixes" on a car of this price is just not acceptable.

:iagree: I took mine in this morning, they told me that they would have it done later today if possible. Then he told me that they have the steering lock part on hand because this happens alot  I will post up how much they charge me.

How many miles did you have on your Z before it went out?

... I have an 09 and need to look at my code to see if I'm in the effected range. I don't feel like being the next posting victim on steering lock failure.

cossie1600 11-30-2012 12:48 PM

Mine has 21K when it faile

kenchan 11-30-2012 01:00 PM

weakening battery also seems to be associated with this failure. it might be one of the tattle tail signs before death.

i suggest you pull the fuse or cut the brown wire, gbrettin. :)

USMCASA 11-30-2012 03:04 PM

mine had 99.6 k on the odo
