Cone filters with stock air box?

I was just wondering if anyone makes a cone filter such as a k&n that works in conjuntion with the factory air box, or even an aftermarket closed intake system? I would like to upgrade the intake but I would also like some protection from the rain.

Way off topic, but I couldn't resist :icon14:

Rain isn't going to affect your intake unless u get an injen and leave it outside on a downhill slope in the rain for hours. Even gen III's aren't affected by rain

The factory intake is a cai system. Why not just drop in K&N filters?

Or a true cold air system with a rain sock

Rain socks really don't work that good, they're alright. I was thinking along the lines of the volent system. I realize they don't make it for the 370 but it offers the cool air duct to the front of the car a closed system over the open air cone filter and a bigger intake tube. This is why I asked if they made a cone filter that could connect to the intake tube inside the factory air box. You haven't heard of anyone doing this before?

I think someone is working on something like this for our cars. I know Jordo was posting about it a little whiel ago but I don't remember what shop was developing it.

Again just to re-emphasize, how is it that water would get on a gen III style intake any more than it would get on a stock intake. If u submerge that in water, u would have to be in 2' of water

im curious about this too. i just like the look and sound of a pair of red cone filters. this would go good in conjuntion with the red z1 post MAF hoses.
