I wrote a check for mine. I was going to do actual cash, but did not want to freak out the dealer.

Funny. I am a consultant. I guess that is kind of like drug dealing, Maybe it's more like prostitution -- I can't decide.

My wife is a doctor and that helps our income a bit as well.

Most places actually won't take more than $10k in cash towards the purchase of a car, because the anti-laundering paperwork is a PITA.
