REAR license plate removal

has anyone done this?

zentropy 11-19-2012 12:05 PM

Are asking if someone has shaved the license plate box and relocated or simply removed the plate?

I want to take off the whole plate. Where will the screws fall from behind the bumper? Do I have to get under the bumper or take out the trunk liner ?

This thread has the potential to go the route of cleaning the inside of the engine with a hose and become internet legend.

Just checked and my rear license plate is held on with sheetmetal screws (tapered threads, no nut).

Stuck my hand behind the bumper cover and could almost reach the back of the screws. If you have nutted fasteners, you're nuts should hit the floor when you set them loose. :roflpuke2:

You said stuck your hand behind the bumper!!!

Wonder if they make suspenders for your nuts so they dont hit the floor.
