The difference I pay to upgrade is 12 not my car value

He's basically telling you to bend over

Or yelling at him to go faster, whatever the twisted mind of the rep wants. |
Only 200 miles on the car ? Really ? Why didn't you just buy the touring model to begin with ? Sorry, I had to ask ..... at this point it's too late. buyers remorse is a horrible thing. I would think that 12k would buy you a lot of upgrades. I think that stillen has been around for quite a while, not just for Nissan products, but I'm not the expert here. But again, 12k would buy wheels, aftermarket nav, stereo, some performance goodies. I would think that with only 200 miles you are much better off just fixing up the car you have.

Wait a minute, guys. Give the knee jerk reactions a rest and do the math. Is this really that unreasonable a deal? A base model is what? $30k? He wants a sport with touring. Don't know if he wants nav or not. If not, then we're talking around $38k, right? If he does, then more like $41k? So there's an $11k delta right there. Plus, his base model depreciated the moment he drove it off the lot. So if my numbers are right, then this dealer is basically letting him return his car for a $1k hit on depreciation and swap it for the car he really wants. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I'd do it if I were him. But it's not "nuts," and it's not "robbery." Given the price points, I don't think this dealer is trying to make him "bend over." Now, if my numbers are off, then someone please correct me, because obviously my opinion is based on my understanding of the numbers and price points.

you forgot tax, doc, and licensing fees :D
|
It's Hawaii so I'm sure the car doesn't have the Nav. But yeah the $12K figure is close with Hawaii's 4.7% tax + the salesman adding a little profit.
Special K if you're serious I'm sure you can contact some of the shops here on Oahu, tell them your intent and see what bids/estimates they give. |
One other point: the Sport/Touring will have much higher resale value than a Base model with 12K in mods.
I'm not saying it's worth the trade, but it needed to be pointed out. If you're going to keep the car for a long time, I'd put the 12K into mods and be happy. However, since you're already looking to sell the first one after 200 miles, resale value may be important to you. The whole thing is an absolute killer on sales tax, license, etc. though. Not to rub it in, but you could have just burned 5-7K in a garbage can and kept yourself warm for a few hours  I say go mods and be happy. |
Yea I didn't do the deal I'm keeping base and I just ordered stollen exhaust anyone wanna help install when it arrives

O yea the total was 41700 that's with tax
|
Don't do it....Like others have said, just get better brakes, an LSD, better wheels and call it a day. Integrated NAV is overrated IMO anyway.

GTM twin turbo kit, I think it's $10,000 installed, though you need to ship your car here in S. Cali. This kit is off the hook...I think it's like 500hp for a "mild" set up.
Actually, don't get a spoiler, leave your stock 18"s on, get a Kaaz limited slip and this twin turbo kit, do your suspension...and voila-->500hp sleeper creeping up on unsuspecting victims a la turbo 911's, Vipers, Z06's etc. Oh yeah, let nurburing "Mr. 911 turbo driver" who supposedly crashed a 370 pull the leather seats out of the one he smashed so that you can install them in your base model. Hell, if theyr'e the orange leather ones, I want them! |
Any recommendation In a deep dish rim? Throw some names out there
