ok im new so dont kill me....
so i just jot my new 2013 touring/sport.bad *** toy to have it in the already with a cylinder misfire/cel flashing. the dealer said that it MAY be the ecu which happens to be back ordered from japan.so after calling nissan NA the rep told me to hang tight to see how long it will take to get it in. keep in mind the car has only 425 miles and then original tank of fuel!!! its ben in the shop over a week now and looks like in might stay foe another 2/3 weeks nissian n/a said they will make it up to me with something... like some add ons. the question i had was since its the sport body and has the spoiler already is that the s tune type ? i think the Nismo spoiler will not fit do to the fact the the deck lid is already drilled ? i wanted the Nismo wing but if it wont fit than should i ask for the cat back exhaust system?? what would you do ? or would yoou just push for a new car ? steve...with out wheels

Sorry to hear about your car. It really depends on what you want & can get Nissan for. For me, I would pass on any of their stuff with the exception of the back up camera mirror. I would shoot for a handful of free services. You can do a lot better with the aftermarket for things like exhaust, suspensions body kits.
YMMV

Don't know if they'd go for it but you might wanna try to get them to extend the warranty. Just a thought.
Just like Island said, you're better off getting free service work as the non-Nissan/Nismo aftermarket parts tend to be superior.

Yeah, normally stuff like that is more along the lines of floor mats or a key chain. My MB dealer was big on giving me clothing for problems.
Don't hold your breath expecting a new exhaust or anything... *And make sure you document everything - dates, conversations, e-mails, just in case you would have to lemon it or something. A lot easier to keep track as you go vs. trying to go back and remember everything. |

I think your all most likely right, the car has nav that has the back up cam already.I'm thinking about the extend warranty would be good. Iv got every thing written down and dated for now. At least the dealer gave me a free loaner to burn up (swell altima)

Personally I'd be pushing for just getting a different 370z. Reasons why:
1) you have been out your brand new car now almost since day one and now it looks like it may be a few more weeks. Plus there is no guarantee that when they get a new ECU in that the problem will be fixed. It's happened more than once where the initial fix doesn't solve the problem. 2) Chances are what they are going to offer are free services or extended warranty. For the first few years of the cars life the only thing you will really need are basic services that you can do yourself at home. I would rather do my own oil changes rather than Nissan do them. So giving me free oil changes and tune ups would do me no good. Extending the warranty? Again, in theory the car shouldn't have any problems with it for several years. Warranty work in the first few years of a new cars life is far and few between. So again, to me this would be pointless. As other mentioned they are not going to be giving you performance parts or anything like that. 3) I would already be sour about the whole experience and would rather just start over with a new car that doesn't already have issues. That's just me On a side note, I'm not sure you would want the NISMO wing on the car without the front NISMO lip. The NISMO wing actually is functional producing a decent amount of downforce at higher speeds. The Front lip does the same thing which combined means both front and rear downforce. Adding just the rear wing without a front lip in theory could cause some instability at higher speeds; assuming you ever decided to push your car into higher speeds where it would matter. Just something to think about. |

Negotiate for a new car. You may have just had a glimpse of what lies ahead of you with that car. Even if it costs you a $500 or a bit more, consider it a lesson learned and get a fresh start with a new car.
