Sorry to hear this. The thing is the person who ditched your car already knew what would happen yet did it anyway. I get that they will compensate you for it but the fact that your car got beat up plus the hassle of getting it dropped off and fixed is just unacceptable. I'd ask for more from this moron.

Yep this was a nightmare unfolding before my very eyes. I still can't believe what happened. As far as would the exhaust got banged up if it was stock? I do not know for a fact but I believe the tips would of got damaged as the rash is on the cans and on the left tip. I will see about more compensation but you know how that goes. Gotta lawyer up to get more. I just want to be made whole again and that is all you can really ask for. The hassle is part of life. Chalk it up to never going there again. And once I get my money I will be doing a full write up on all the local forums that recomended them. Sad thing is I would have never of gone there without all their recommendations from local car guys. Plus they gave half off which made it half the price of the dealership to do the work. Again I would gladly pay double to get the work done right then to go through this. Luckily the body was not damaged so no paint work. If that happened I would of been lawyering up in the parking lot and restraining myself from choking a mofo out from those last comments he made like I was some sort of lucky winner to go through it and be all nonchalant about it.

Well since I have sent him the invoice for the exhaust he is now going back on what he originally said and wants to talk to Fast Intetntions to see about getting just the pieces he messed up. Given this is possible this is not what I want. I want a new complete exhaust and get rid of the old damaged one. Am I being unrealistic and should be happy to just get new cans? I have already placed an order for a whole new complete exhaust.

Hell no! I would think he should be more then willing to pay up for the damages. There will be less cost to him to just pay for the stuff damaged rather then a court case when you sue him........They are clearly at fault and you should also tell him you will be suing for not only the replacement parts but the lost time you incurred for having to send your car in for additional service and not having access to your car when you were not even the one that damaged the car. Not to mention the loser always pays for lawyer fees so realluy he should fork over the $$$!

I agree. So I should hold to getting a whole new exhaust and refuse just getting replacement cans which he damaged from his negligence?

Any person who is a true enthusiast and takes pride in his work and business would have never given you the treatment that you were given. GO AFTER HIM. I would be sure the placard on the building said "Speedfreek wheel service" by the time it was said and done. |

Thanks LMB and ZBro. I really wanted to try to keep this from having to go to court. It seems he is going to leave me with no choice. This is becoming a big headache and I do not like to suffer alone. I will let him know that contacting Fast Intentions to piece mill my exhaust back together isn't going to fly Jack! Either pay me for the damages and order me a new complete exhaust and new chin spoiler or I will have to force my hand.

Sounds like you have a good plan, that's what I would be trying to do first to. You could also get the documents you need from the small claims court and show him them and say that when you submit these it will become a law suite then he might realize that your serious! GL

Well after the back and forth all weekend. I had to demonstrate that I am willing to take this further if need be and leaving me no other choice. I guess that brought him to his senses and seeing that I was giving a fair deal to make things right. I picked up the check at lunch and my new chin spoiler will be here tomorrow. It all ends well I suppose but to have to go through this ordeal still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. On the brighter side at least my car will be back to normal by Spring when I get my new exhaust.
Thanks everyone for their help on how to proceed it was more than beneficial in getting things resolved. Much appreciated.
