Lol!

I drive my car in the winter as long as its not snowing. If its not snowing just take her out.

Mitco39 11-14-2012 04:24 PM

I might have to, although Sasha strongly suggested against it. That turbo will probably break the tires loose in 6th, haha.

boilermaker1 11-14-2012 07:08 PM

It's always summer here in Hawaii...sorry to rub that in. But yeah I felt the same way when I was living in Indiana.

:rofl2: Yeah, I guess that is a downside to living on a volcano.

danegrey 11-15-2012 06:52 AM

just drive it..... Z's are made to be driven......

scottIN 11-15-2012 07:27 AM

It's not snowing here yet, but I've realized I have to be a little easier on the throttle. Not too bad after I've been driving for a while, but when the tires are cold (in the 30's here), it gets a little hairy. Keep kicking in the VDC off the line & through turns.

Just out of habit (from racing) I am on the throttle through turns and I keep getting it a little sideways before the tires are warm.

Hmm... I don't see any problems there.

Yeah winter is the best time to drive our cars down in Houston.

NS370Z 11-16-2012 07:07 AM

No snow yet in Nova Scotia, Canada. No salt on the roads either so this weekend I'll take the Z out for a run. First snow or salt it stays in the garage until clears up in spring.

Mitco39 11-16-2012 09:02 AM

Yeah its the salt that kills em, we typically dont get to much snow here in Edmonton Alberta. If we do its usually far apart and gives the roads plenty of time to clear up and dry right off. So taking the Z out for a stroll in the winter is doable.

Mitco39 02-05-2013 12:41 PM

Soooo is it summer yet? Getting closer. Once we get through February the end will be in sight :D

wheee! 02-05-2013 01:32 PM

Looking forward to the first car show already! Starting to plan the CFB Edmonton Car Show for May as we speak...

How does one get in on that? Do you have to register?

Really? I'm sure that winter doesn't really end in Red-neck country until April.:stirthepot:

Mt Tam I am 02-05-2013 01:49 PM

Saturday was like summer almost. It was 60 degrees and sunny. The problem was everybody wanted to be on the road too. So if I'd wanted to see how the Z does in traffic, I'd have gone out. Now it is starting to rain.

Quick season.

The main roads have dried up nicely, one could easily do a quick rip down HWY2 or around the henday in weather like this. I just don't think I would get the car out of the residential streets. Not to mention mine is in about 200 pieces right now.

TheGreatOne 02-05-2013 02:00 PM

winter withdrawl is strating to hit me now...I was ok in December...so much goin on

But now I'm so itching to have my car out. Probably waiting till April 1....arrrggg

Mitco39 02-05-2013 02:03 PM

You guys running clear bras on your car? I was going to just repaint my bumper and hood every couple years instead of putting the bra on, but now I am kinda leaning towards it (its not cheap up here though, not even close). I just hate the lines and the fact that when you wax the car your not waxing the car.

:iagree:

I thought the turbo would have taken me longer to install... now I have to wait... Hopefully things warm up like last spring. I had the Z out mid March.

No clear bra for me. If you are going to do it, get a full hood, bumper, and fender wrap. Check Auto Obsessed, they have a sweet shop out there.

Mitco39 02-05-2013 02:14 PM

Ill check them out, I was quoted $1700 by another local shop here in Edmonton. Which I find crazy, For that price I can get the front repainted every 4-5 years.

Take it apart and put it back together again...just ot keep you sharp hehe :icon17:

Actually I am running clear bra...friend put it on at his shop after hours so got a good price.

Totally worth it...I have half hood, front bumper, mirrors....barely see the division although now its been almost 2 yrs, bit of curl near one of the edges of the wheel wheel...will just cut that with an exacto

And that is crazy expensive, i imagine it might cost more in deadmonton but still

Mitco39 02-05-2013 02:33 PM

For that price I will just plan a road trip down south of the boarder to get the front end repainted. Maybe ill just wrap the bumper? Better yet ill get a bug deflector for the car! haha.

I already have to get a new windshield for the car :(

I love/hate mine... the 3M is garbage and scratches way too easy. The Ventureshield on my Lincoln has held up very well. For car shows the clear bra always looks like crap compared to a well maintained paint job... but I have no rock chips either....

my bra-less G is 9yrs old (im the original owner) and she has very minor chips from regular use, but it's hardely noticable from like a foot away.

my Z is bra-less too on the front. i have 2 chips size of a sesame seed that i touched up. i was like :crying: but then my car is not a show car so oh well. i use a 4" wide clearbra along the bottom of the rockers that i installed myself. helps prevent front tire kickup scratches. you can get the scotch 4" roll at amazon. get the 6mil one.

hope to have both of them out loose by mid-march.
