if it's less than 3K to repair...something like that....the dealership can fix it themselves and sell it without the future owner ever knowing.

I think that law varies by state to state, or province to province, but if he hit a median at 77mph (which is an unusual speed to take note of and makes me question the validity of this whole story) then I am sure he did enough damage to force the dealer to disclose it. Hopefully the Z will just get totalled and some other poor guy won't have to deal with the potential headaches that may come with buying a car that was carelessly driven and wrecked. In maryland he would have been ticketed for anything from failure to control speed to reckless endangerment.

It's a privllege to drive the 370z, you wrecked the car and you make a post about it.
And I see your from Jersey...
Great.

:iagree: 100% with you. What really floors me are the idiots here that think it is funny and amusing. They all (including the moron driver) are totally ignorant of the fact the Z is a highly refined sport car which demands respect while driving. It's a shame those who understand and fully respect this fact will always have to share the same streets with these knuckledragging clueless atavists.

Which supports the fact it was the driver's stupid carelessness why it happened in the first place as the car was completely in his control at that moment.

nurburgring 07-05-2009 01:25 PM

The car was pretty bad. Front left side is smashed in, whole left side and ripped to hell and the back left is smash in pretty good too. I imagine it would be far more then 5-6k worth of damage.

Let me be clear, not blaming the car at all, it was 100% my fault. Not used to the feel of the car and it got away from me. I drive a 2006 911 turbo, my girl has really gotten into cars since she met me and now she wants something sporty. I was test driving it out pretty much for her.

So I guess you could say I can handle a 911 but the 300z is to much for me. :excited:

if the VDC was off it wasnt me that turned it off and i didnt see any warning sign on the dash.

If the salesman asked you to drive it off a bridge would you have done that as well? I don't think the Z is for you. You obviously can't handle it, and you could hurt someone else.

Probably got too comfy with that AWD car you had and forgot you couldn't mash the accelerator on a RWD car on a downhill turn no less...... :inoutroflpuke:

tvfreakazoid 07-05-2009 02:20 PM

Dang nice ride. I would really like to test drive it.
Come on people, it was a freak accident. Poop happens. It's not like he can't handle driving a sports car, hell he drives a 911.
A Z is a nice car but it's no 911 in comparison.

That's not a Turbo; the Turbo has ducts in front of the rear wheels. Not to mention that the wing on that is from the Cup Aerokit that wouldn't fit on a Turbo.

Wrong - owning a 911 doesn't make you a driver. In fact, he proved he doesn't know the first thing about real driving (which is to learn how a car handles/performs/responds before you push it).

anybody that hasn't crashed a car is no real driver.

just like a fight. if you have never been beat up you are not truly skilled.

You state it was a Turbo. The Carrera S is 2wd not AWD as the Turbo is which has led some people to thinking that it was a contributing cause of your accident. I.E. going from an AWD car to a 2WD car which appears to have NOT been the case.

Live and learn and move on, but I couldn't help but notice.;)

So you're saying that that crash makes you a real driver? That is truly moronic...

nogoodname 07-05-2009 03:07 PM

i'm sure he's not the only one to ever crash during a test drive

i banged up a FX50s the other day, took the bus back to the dealership.

Voivod 07-05-2009 03:14 PM

In the very unlikely event that this story is true, your karma may come later when you hear the sentence "It was 100% my fault" read back to you in court, from this thread where the paralegal will find it.

i will be driving too fast for them to ever catch me! :driving:

anyway, before the crash i was loving the z. i have watched the top gear Australia review of the 370z and they said the engine sounds like a tractor. are they nuts? i love the sound of the engine on this car. going to order the auto paddle shifter base model in Pearl White. i hope she is a little less brave then me. :roflpuke2:

minnichs 07-05-2009 03:34 PM

If this is story is true you should not have admitted that it was 100% your fault.

ok, in that case, the car sucks ***, and the sales guy made me do it.

semtex 07-05-2009 03:55 PM

This entire thread makes me think of this guy for some reason:

Forrest 07-05-2009 04:13 PM

if he is telling the truth, all of you guys need to stop hating.

His thread actualy made me laugh specialy when he did the top hat icon for when he said he left. just priceless.

Life is full of sh@t happens. there is no need for you guys to post the negative crap that your doing. He might actualy be a good guy, that just messed up.

but on a side note typing turbo when you know dam well your cars not turbo is very fishy.

either way less hating on some one who took alot of guts to post his mistake. (if he is telling the truth)

nogoodname 07-05-2009 04:17 PM

:worthless:

even though no pics to come, therefore...thread should just be locked
