370Z Dashboard Gauges
the gauges are a clock, battery voltage and oil temp
http://www.the370z.com/images/japan%...8-mines-04.jpg if you get the Navi, there will be a clock on the screen....it would be nice if someone made some aftermarket parts to change the clock gauge into something more useful....lol what do you all think?? |
I'm sure it's in the process already...if not by NISMO, then by others....
|
^^ thats good, i like a lot of gauges........feels like a spaceship to me...lol
|
It would be nice to be able to paint the silver gauge cover on the fuel gauge black to increase the contrast. If its really aluminum, perhaps having it anodized black. I wonder if that would be possible.
|
^^ anything is possible my friend

^^ that is the final production car...isnt it???

Boost gauge... who's with me!
Just kidding [kinda] , but yea a clock would be kind of pointless with a Nav screen. Maybe switch it out for water temp or oil pressure. |
^^ someone will definitely have a boost gauge...lol..someone out there
the clock is really pointless....... |

Everything is laid out really well. Braden |
i wonder if the clock also works as a digital speedo? my 03 350 had that i i like it. easy to keep track of speed

You'd be surprised how useful the clock is... you just automatically look at it. |
^^ no need for 2 clocks if you get the navi...that was my point....lol

^^ LOL, why even worry about time.....you got a 370z...you'll make it anywhere in time
|
Well, unlike with the 350Z I wouldn't feel bad about replacing the gauges in the 370Z. The clock is pretty much pointless unlike the computer that occupied that space in the 350Z.
Oh well, a set of Defis would look sweet in that spot (and I wouldn't have to put a ghey a-pillar pod in the car). |

I would've liked to see an oil pressure gauge instead of a clock...OR, I'd keep the clock if it had a lap-timer function built-in!
|
I actually like it...
lol... |
I believe the OP pic is from the JDM version.
|
I forgot where i got it from
|
^^^ you fail
|
^^ you would forget also if you were in my position
What about the big Fail you made...remember that PM????? |
hehehehehehe oh ya i shut up now.

Im surprised no one has switched that gauge to see what else it can display, or at least I have not seen a thread on it yet. If it doesn't do the digital speedo, im definitely going to mod it so that it does. Very useful up there. |
that would be a cool and easy mod

I had a 03 350Z I sold in 2005 and haven't followed the gauges in later 350Z models since. Will 370Z still have a gauge where you can change a display to trip odometer, speedometer in digits, tire pressure, etc?

For one, Nissan is not going to make 2 sets of the Z. One with the clock and one without. They're gonna make the clock for all the Z's, and the Navi is added option. Second, I have owned several cars with Navi/Tech package. In order to used the Navi, you have to press "ok" every time(It is pain in the butt). After a while, I just stop pressing it if I don't need to use it. Hence, you will not have the clock function. So, the clock up top is functional...IMO. Additional note. The cars I've own are Toyotas and Acuras. They have 2 clocks and 2 sets of radio/cd player display. Hence, I don't have to turn on the navi if i wanted to used the cd player/radio. I don't know how it will go for the Z in that aspect. |

There are always bypass mods for everything including the navi. But in my opinion, it's not worth my time and money to deal with pressing the "ok" button. If i need it, I press the button. If I don't, I do nothing. That's my way of getting around it.

I have about 14k miles on the G and I believe the system has a fantastic interface. I see navigation itself as an overpriced, underused option, but all the stuff that comes with it is fantastic. I would gladly pay hundreds for the ipod integration and musicbox system even if there was no navigation. Actually, I seriously wish this was an option. The screen also fills the center stack out nicely and makes the 370z interior look a bit like an Infiniti which most people would consider a good thing. |
^^^ you could not be more right.

That fuel/temp area is interesting... hopefully someone offers a white/clear alternative to those markings. Initially I had a hunch those fuel/temp indicators were part of the LCD segment, and then I thought I was wrong and those were LEDs, but after looking at the car my first hunch was correct. :-P
So changing the LED illumination color will affect the fuel/temp area as well, unless someone puts in tint strips in that area. Anyhow, I'm waiting for someone to produce a version of the face without the amber/orange font. Perhaps even better is black/carbon faced. |
