Your next 370z or future Z
I did a little forum search to see if this topic was covered. I couldnt find anything really relating to what I was about to ask.
My basic question is, if you were to buy your 370z again or simply trade it in toward another, what options would you have chosen? transmission? I have a 2009 6MT Touring in black barely has 12K miles on it right now. I live around philly and in the city. I sometimes wish I had picked the automatic when Im stop and go traffic, and sometimes I wish I had the sports package with the syncrorev. All and all I do love my car, but I believe next time around I may go for the roadster w/ sport with auto tranny. I recently drove a 2010 coupe with the autotranny and the syncrorev, I really enjoyed it and how crisp the shifts were. Anyone have sort of the same feelings that maybe they want to get a bit more and change a few things up. I still love her, but hey always room for an upgrade |

I think this has been covered before, well I think it was similar, something like do you regret getting the sp model and not the nismo instead something like that.
But as far as your concern goes, I would say that is what mods are for. I mean I have seen a sports package model changed to a Nismo with OEM parts. Only thing that most people cant really change is their transmission. Although I bet there is a way to do that too. But since their isnt a thread exactly like this one, might as well make a new one with a poll. As for me wouldn't change a thing, color, specs, model, year, LOVE my Z! |

12k Miles on a 2009? Really? You don't do any real driving anyway, +1 for moding. Also, MT is better, especially with such little driving.

7AT is great, sporty when you need it, cruise when you want to chill. Sport model is also a big plus.

I have a '09 7AT Sport Touring with Nav in MBlue.
If I were to do it again I'd probably get the same damn car, but '10+ I don't NEED Nav, but the '10's+ have better Nav screens, a DVD player built in, a bit better interface for connecting phones, not just the iPod connection and CF card, and the GPS can be updated via disc, instead of hard drive. I LOVE the Auto, I respect manual, it's fun to drive, but in Houston, Dallas, and Los Angeles there will be times I see 1.8 MPH, so thank GOD for the AT... And for anyone who has specifically driven a Lexus with paddle shifters or tiptronic transmissions, you'll know that it doesn't really let you downshift when YOU want it to, it has to be in a specific range, like UNDER 20MPH to engage 1st... The Nissan doesn't care, it will let you shift at 35MPH, close to redline... It won't let you go into 7th at 25MPH either, but why would you need to? LOL I'd love the 40th anniversary, or gunmetal too, the MBlue is awesome, but it's a cop magnet... I do consider myself an audiophile, but I REALLY don't understand the gripe with the Bose sound system, for being factory, I think it's pretty good, or not bad enough that I think to myself, what a POS, I gotta change this thing... LOL |

I love my Z. When I wrecked the '10 7AT base + sport, I replaced it with a '11 7AT sport+toring+nav. Love it!
In the future, my next car will most likely be... 1. Next gen Z, similar model 2. A (OEM) FI'd FR-S (if one exists) 3. New Rx-7 4. (if roling in dough) turbo Z4. Any of those should make me a happy camper circa 2015-2017

I'd go with Blue + sport + nav. 6mt of course. I refuse to buy an auto sports car. I'll probably never own a GTR even if I could afford it.

I wish for a LSD (note: I do not wish FOR LSD...that would be an off topic thread). But I don't think I want the syncro-rev. It would be nice to have a stock rear fog light, too. So I guess if I were doing it all again I'd go with the current model, touring plus sport. But since my '09 has only 14k on it, I'm hoping I won't be faced with this decision anytime soon!
