370Z Service Members and DoD stationed in Germany... need input!
Hello,
I need to hear from Service Members and DoD civilians who recently shipped their new 370Z to Germany/Europe. My inquiry is regarding OCONUS warranty coverage from Nissan USA. According to the local dealer here in Kansas, the warranty covers my car 100% while stationed in Europe. On the other side, the Exchange Military Sales dealer located in Germany swears that the warranty will void, period, and that an extended warranty ($2,700) must be purchased in order to have the vehicle covered. I may buy the car in the US or Germany, depending on my future orders/deployment status. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! |

Customer Bill of Rights
Hey man,
I am by no means a legal-O, but it seems most military sales providers provide something similar to this "Customer Bill of Rights." Reading through this seems to indicate to me that you are covered first through the new vehicle factory warranty regardless of location, and 2: through the individual sales corps consumer rights policy. generic example: Quote:

When I looked into buying a car in the US and shipping it here to PR, I was told that the warranty will not be honored in another country (not a Nissan though). I hope it is different for the military, but for civilians it seems the warranty is country specific.

Thanks for the quick reply, guys. I will call Nissan USA to get the final word on this issue. The model I want, base with sport pkg, is significantly cheaper in the US vs Europe, around $32k vs $36k. Exchange Military sales in Europe is a complete ripp off, but is more convenient because I will get it delivered in Europe.
