Hey Kenchan-it has not resurfaced, but, this is the second time. First time was during a bit of "spirited" driving during my daily commute.

To make a long story short, she thinks its in the nissan computer wrong because the slave in our cars is not dedicated, its integrated with the throwout bearing and therefor part of the powertrain and should be covered. So as of right now i am scheduled to have the work done under the powertrain warranty on thursday.

Hopefully this will be the last you hear from me on this topic.

I picked the car up on saturday and she's a fixed ! The mechanic said he noticed the clutch issue as soon as he test drove it before doing the work which is contrary to the guy who drove it the first time for 45 minutes and felt nothing. I asked to speak with him because i wanted to find out how it went and what he found inside the bell. Oddly, he said there was no fluid inthe bell whatsoever. Good news but kind of shocking. I was expecting everything, including my clutch plates, to be soaked. He said the only signs of an issue were there was signs of wetness where the hydraulic line clipped into the slave. An when i day clipped, i mean CLIPPED. No bolts, no clamps, notta. Its a freaking press fitting. You literally press the hydraulic lines into the PLASTIC slave. And after holding that thing in my hand, we all better pray not to have this issue ALOT. I swear to go that the plastic containers that everything comes in now is better quality plastic than the slave in the 370z. Even the throwout bearing looks like its pressed by hand onto this plastic POS. its a total joke. I cannot believe someone designed this in CAD and had the sack to go into a room full of big shots and say "hi guys, i have the new design for the slave cylinder on or (almost) flagship vehicle. It's this 2 ounce piece of plastic i just printed on the 3d printer" - and then they approved the damn thing ! I really am expecting to have this issue again in another 40k miles. Not good...

To wrap up my story, someone thought it should have an exciting ending apparently because this morning was really this first chance i got to really test it. Saturday, when i picked it up it was like rush hour traffic and i never broke 40mph. This morning at 4:30 on the way to work i decided to put it thru its paces. I stopped for coffee, pulled out of D&D and up to the light. When it turned green i starte ripping thru gears to see how the clutch felt. Somewhere between 70 an 75 is when the police lights lit me up like a christmas tree ! Joy ! 70+ in a 30mph zone. I told him he i wouldnt believe what i was about to tell him either but that i just got the car back and was tearing thru gears to see if it was fixed. To make a long story short he said "well, i really like the car so i am cutting you some slack and giving you a warning". He is my new hero. I had visions of prison sex going thru my head after the lights came on. Thank god my preminition didnt hold true....

Have a great day.

Nissan customer affairs is fighting me on this right now, telling me it will take 3-4 days for them to make a decision on whether or not to cover it. The shitty part is I had to come home from my business travel so I left my car at a dealer 120 miles away.

MrAurora im sending you a PM, if you have the paperwork showing this was covered or even a case number (even better if you have both) that would be appreciated.

If he does make sure to disclose it so others can use that as ammunition when having to go toe to toe with Nissan customer affairs.

this is actually getting crazy, they keep referring to the dealership who says its under the 3yr/36,000 warranty. They arent even listening to what im saying. Ive escalated it to a "high priority cliam". MrAurora details on your claim would be super!!!

Had another call about 10 minutes ago with Nissan Customer Affairs. They keep referring to what the idiot dealer said which is "the part is only covered under the 3yr/36,000 warranty". It's as if they didnt do any research themselve. I had them do the same thing, pull out the warranty book, refer them to the section, mention the part is integrated with the throwout bearing... nothing. Im now going to my third level of review (the last level) and all they are gonna do is call the same f'ing dealer. I asked them not to and to call a local dealer and they wont do it. God I hate Columbus, first the Suckeyes and their shitty *** fans, now dumb *** Nissan dealers. I will continue to fight this and keep everyone updated!! I'd like to think there is no chance I get stuck with this $1,300 bill!!! Until I hear back in 24 hours... cheers!

Dang man this is bull. I’m hoping this will not come out of your pocket. Have you tried talking any sense into the dealer that they are going through. Did Mr. Aurora reply? Keep us posted.

This is the way they get away with stuff like this. They yell the loudest and hope the consumer backs down. Don't do it man, stick to your guns and show them how loud you can get (like in the middle of the dealership with a room full of other customers). I can attest that this tactic gets results amazingly fast. It worked on a Firebird that I had. The rear end made noise from day one and the dealer kept telling me it was "normal". When I demanded that someone from GM Technical Support look at it (with a loud but firm voice in the center of the service department), they conceded. One of their technicians was a drag racer and knew about rear ends, so he took it for a spin and determined that it was not normal. It was repaired under warranty the next day .
