Carbon fiber roof!
Well as you all know we have been working hard to make the best carbon fiber roof overlay available and here we go the prototype!
Its made of 1 layer of 2x2 carbon fiber 5.7 oz and 1 layer of 1.5 oz matting. It weighs less than a few lbs and believe it or not sits flush! Check it out for yourself! Sorry for no finished pictures. I just pulled it from the mold a few min ago (10 30 PM) And thought Id show you guys! This is how it fits snug underneath the side A pillars (the pillars that stretch from the fenders to the quarter glass, and yes they do come off) Since they fit underneath it makes it look like its not an overlay. This is showing how flush it is with the sides. It actually site a tad lower so it looks even better! This is the over all untrimmed look. Also keep in mind it looks that way only because its not wetsanded and clear coated yet. The MSRP Is $625.00 but we are letting the first few go for only $500. We are only taking one or two orders at the time at most so we dont get backed up with work. No over ordering, no overdue jobs, no falling behind, no angry customers |

Looks great, but one question, will it yellow over time? Kinda new to the CF look, really like the look, and want to know the scope on the stuff. Seen some that appear to have a yellow tint to it, just wondering what thats about. Thank you

We have the antenna attatchment that is also an overlay. Its the stock flat roof that can be drilled out. The antenna goes over it. And therse a carbon fiber cap we will have that goes over the antenna so it looks like its one piece. No extra charge for the first few sales.
And no our stuff will not turn yellow! If it fades abnormally then its covered under our warrenty. All you have to do is to take care of it just like you would take care of your roof with out the carbon. Wash and wax it just like you normally would. All that helps preserve the carbon fiber. Just like paint carbon fiber does not last for ever. But if you maintain it, it will last as long as you take care of it just like anything else. We use the most top of the line clear epoxy that is also super strong and durrable. Each carbon fiber goes through a dual lamination system. Most companies only laminate the carbon fiber with one coat of clear resin. We do 2 clear coat epoxi resin coats. Not only that we clear coat it with dupont clear coat. Not sure on the brand of dupont clear but it costs us close to 300 for a setup so it is very good quality. Lifetime warranty. |

Oh I know, I never would. I understand the value of carbon fiber (I used to race R/C cars that were nearly full carbon fiber), I just can't justify the expense even though the value is up there.
Same reason why I did my own headlights instead of sending them to CiNcity to be done. Last edited by Caravanshaka; 07-05-2009 at 01:22 PM. |

I think the price is incredibly fair, unfortunately I can't do it right now, but in a couple months when I have some things paid off I will probably be looking to do this, as well as the front license plate, the B pillars (do you guys have those in the works?), and maybe a rear license plate area. I think the CF would look great on the yellow. If only there was a way to make the door handles out of CF.
