....no thanks....
I do understand your POV, but some people put just as much weight on appearance as they do performance. Of course appearance is always subjective, and performance is undeniable. If Nissan made a Z that performed like a GT-R, but looked like an 85 Yugo then I doubt too many people would be buying it.

I see these CF mods as being no different than people who spend 5 figures on paint jobs. It may not do a thing for performance, but it looks good to those people that choose to do it. Personally I want my Z to stand out when they start becoming commonplace. I don't want it to be too over the top and I think this CF could be just what I am looking for. The Z is still a mass produced, reasonabley priced, well performing car. This isn't as sacreligious as putting CF overlays on a Ferrari Enzo.

Seriously?!?!? I track my 370z... already been to the track after owning the car for 2 months. These pieces are just the beginning of a whole slew of parts to be designed!!! These parts have a true added value to those who wish to separate themselves from other generic 370z's... John and crew are working on my car which will have TONS of parts on it including: CF hood, Hatch, Fenders, Pillars, Roof, and etc...

Maybe you should do a lil more reading before you make judgmental comments! If its not your thing then leave it at that. don't take a positive thread and add a negative spin to it.

Thanks, Hopefully you will find some parts that do add value to you.

respectfully,

Mike

600 is a great price for an overlay, but I think a full-replacement would sell like hot cakes!

They offer this for several other cars and people love them regardless of the functionality. Good luck with the project - I'm looking forward to photos of the final product!

Like it was said above its for those who like cosmetical add ons and if you like it then what’s the waste?

Its just like getting a paint job or putting on rims or tinting your windows. Anybody who has said anything about it being stupid for it being cosmetically. I bet that person also has something that is just for cosmetical purposes weather it be rims or anything else. Its just to improve the look of the car to that one person who owns the car.

Like others say not one product is going to be like by every person but there is no point to question its purpose when we all clearly know the purpose.

I'm sure John's used to catching flak like this. All aero and style companies have to deal with the occasional hardcore function over form fanatic.

Don't let it discourage you John! Keep up the good work and please post up some higher quality photos once everything is finished!

Just curious, what is the guestament of a 100% carbon fiber hood? And what would the weight difference be compared to the Z's aluminum hood?

If you wanted a full carbon fiber roof replacement youd shed at least 10 lbs. We only make roof caps though :-/

Sorry! The CF hood would shed a little more than 10 lbs. Not exactly sure yet we still have to weigh the two.
