You can tell by my number of posts that I am more of a lurker and like to keep it a little more low key and I am just crazy busy. I am a representative of Nissan so I can have some fun but remain professional in what I say. Dont be offended if I dont answer every question or if I take a little while to. I appreciate the comments of those of you who share my design taste and if you want to see a little more of my work check this out. My theme was chose for the exterior of this plane and you can see a bit of the 370 in there. Actually if you pick up this months 'INTERSECTION" magazine there is an interview/ photoshoot of Zachary Quinto (Spock in new Star Trek) and it has the 370 and A5 pictured together just by pure coincidence. Randy - Great job! My interest in Zs goes back to the early 70's 240Z. It was too expensive for a poor highschool kid, but I'm sure glad that after all these years I've finally got one of its descendants!

So I guess you can't randomly chime in on some thread with "How dare you defile my design with that gaudy rice wing???? You are unworthy of my creation!!" huh? LOL. That'd be hilarious.

Hey, if they ask you to take part in the "refresh" they typically do after 3 to 4 years, could you draw in twin turbo's and an oil cooler? Thanks! j/k

OMG! I had no idea a Filipino designed the 370. Great job, Randy! I'm proud of you! No wonder I felt some connection with it. LOL.
I'm definitely getting one this week. It will be my first Z and sports car. I never thought I would drive a Z but I admire the 370 design so much. I just test drove it last night and I was amazed! Good job, Nissan! |

My hat's off to you for such great work. As a previous 350z owner, you really did improve upon the Z design in every way... I get double the compliments now than before!

I'm an admited Z fanboy. I've loved the Z's ever since I saw my first 280Z when I was a kid. I've wanted a new Z since I saw the Z32 300ZX in 1989. Its been a long wait but the timing has been absolutely perfect!
I'm not sure which I get the biggest kick out of... - That while I was dreaming of a new Z less than 100 miles from me Randy was playing with Z's only years later to build the car of my dreams..... - That when I look at the lines of the Z I can see so much of the influence of the original 240Z from the swooping rear quarter window to the rear end that reminds me of some of the crazy tubbed out 240Zs I use to drool over.... - That a Canadian designed the new 370Z - The total package awesomeness of the 370Z. I'm sitting at Timmy Hoe's with a 350Z and a 300ZX and this guy pulls up in a Ferrari of some sort (it was red it said and sounded like a Ferrari - I think a 430 hardtop). Anyhow a couple of people were in the lot and they beeline it for the car - not the Ferrari but the 370Z! They love it and said they thought the 370Z looked better. There is no accounting for taste but I had to agree with them Lol the Ferrari guy looks all disgusted and roars off - sounded good though Just a funny little story of the countless thumbs up - "nice car", head turning, etc this car produces at every corner. I keep thinking how lucky I am to have a 370Z and I wish you were sitting in the drivers seat instead of me like the time the guy pulls up to me and says "That is a seriously nice car. A seriously seriously nice car guy...." Then you could turn to him and say "Thanks man - I designed it" anyhow as any Z nut I could drone on and on for hours about the car but suffice it to say I'm absolutely thrilled with it and I can't get enough time behind the wheel or even staring out the window of a restaraunt at it, etc. Thanks for putting the lines of the 240Z in there but not making it look just like the 240Z like most of the modern retros do. Awesome awesome awesome!!!! PS - I really like the car.... did I mention that?

Very cool it sounds like some of you are really liking the aggressive lines. I've owned many Z's and I love the 240 and 280. I always thought my 350 was a wicked car and abeautiful design...but now that the 370 is tougher and relates more to the original I'm much more content.

Wow, the designer of the 370z, on this very forum.
Too cool.... I knew nothing about the Nissan Z...but when I saw a commercials for the 370z, I *had* to have one...then I debated back and forth between what's practical, and what I really wanted...in the end, well, practical is already bought and paid for...lol So, yeah, your design sold me on owning a 370z. Nissan backed up your great design with a lot of other goodies, that made it worth the money, and they had a dealer that understood making a sale is better than letting a customer walk out the door (granted, it was the second Nissan dealer I went to...) Well done... |
