So this happened when I got my tires put on at Walmart.

So... called around to find the cheapest tire mounting service in my area. Walmart had the competition beat by around $20.
and this is what i got back.

Going to have pursue the managment. I also noticed i had roughly 12 miles less range than when I left the car. It also took an hour longer than the original estimated 1.5 hour wait. The mechanic also said "Car's got quite the kick to it!" when I picked it up.

cars got kick in it? Yeah they def test drove it, just curious why not go to pep boys or something they charge 9.99 for a mount and balance, and another 9.99 to put it on.

Thats unfortunate, GL with the lawsuit/pursuing the responsible

:tiphat:

Well i've heard horror stories about suing walmart.. they also have the largest legal team in corporate america. Pep boys said they wouldnt mount any tires i didnt purchase there. Pretty bummed about it.

nmjaxx9 10-29-2012 12:10 PM

Really? You sure, I got hankooks on order and im getting my rays powdercoated and when I get both, I am going to pepboys, they said they will mount any tires (regardless of you buy them there or not).

And yeah well hire a lawyer and sue them, you might come out a couple mil richer.

Jasonle 10-29-2012 12:11 PM

Damn dude that sucks..

shaun66 10-29-2012 12:12 PM

If someone drove my car without my permission I would be pissed AF. Especially a Walmart mechanic lol

That's not how suing works. He will get compensated for his time and damage that's about it

Well the main thing is he gets his Z back to how it was when he first brought it in, as long as that is taken care of. :icon17:

Waiz 10-29-2012 12:29 PM

Damn this sucks but you should have carefully inspected your Z after you got it back and pointed this out before you left

This is what happens when you don't go to an enthusiast shop, lesson learned

nmjaxx9 10-29-2012 12:35 PM

Yeah and trying to be a smartass in a situation like this only makes things uworse, OP good luck with repairs.:tiphat:

jgibbons 10-29-2012 12:36 PM

Yeah it was pretty late and freezing out. so i didnt spend a lot of time checking it out, but i noticed it first thing in the morning.

babbagandu 10-29-2012 12:40 PM

Why would you let anyone at walmart touch your z? Lesson learned....good luck getting it sorted out

binary0x01 10-29-2012 12:41 PM

Dood... Walmart?? man... really. Dunno what to say, sucks about the Z.

If your Z is a 6 speed... man I'd be worried about them grinding gears and slipping the clutch. All around not a good move to take it there.

speedfreek 10-29-2012 12:49 PM

I stopped reading at Wal-mart.

It happens, I would try to take as many photos that you can and report it to the Service Manager

If you can I would also get an estiamte from a body shop for the repair so that you know what to ask for in terms of dollar amount

I recently had to go after a city construction company because of an unmarked construction zone that damaged my car, everyone told me that I wouldn't get compensated for it but I pursued it and got the the company to pay my damages after I ended up going through my insurance
