Venting
In my most humbling opinion Nissan’s has drop the ball on this series of Z. Pretty much Nissan and Mazda had the convertible market wrapped up. They both combine to run Honda (S2000), Pontiac (solstice), Chrysler (crossfire), Saturn (sky) out of business. All of these convertibles have hit the dust in the last 6yrs. Problems have pop up on this series including steering lock, gas tank, oil temperature, paint etc. I had a choice of a tussy under 175 hp Mazda or pay over 50,000 on a BMW for the same thing I get in 370z. If I had to do it all over again, would I buy my 2010 Roadster, manual, SP, 370Z. I dreamed of having a Z for many years, and to wonder if I brought a lemon down the road? Final note, Consumer report and MSN put these cars on the “stay away from list.” TIME WILL TELL, even though I care less what they say about our Z; I would rather it had made the top 10 sports car list....Don't you?

IMHO, the Z shouldn't be a convertible.

The Z is not perfect, but it doesn't have to be. Some Z owners sound like women looking for the perfect man. Despite the shortcomings of the Z, I think it is the right car for me...so I live with it. Then again I did buy a 2012. |

Cars can be moded, upgraded, changed, tuned, made prefect if you put time and money into them. On the other hand...WOMEN, well. I am not crying but they could have done a better job on some of these issues. I did say I was just venting.

i love my 09 370 50,000 on it never been in the shop. except for a bad gas cap.
never has burned a drop of oil. and the 350 i had was ok. with all that being said i'm going to wait another 12 to 20 months and if nissian doesn't up HP and torque to better levels. i'm switching to a good old v8. maybe a good used c6 vette. but it's been a great ride so far with the Z. |
I've had a great run with my Z car. I have a 2010. I modded to address the oil issue. It's not a problem for me. Every car has its foibles. There is no perfect car. Enjoy what you have.

For the money, you really can't beat the latest Z as a pure sports car in terms of looks, performance, and feel.
Part of me yearns for a Z4, but the one I want costs nearly twice as much as the Z -- can't swing that right now. Same rationale applies to a Cayman, although I personally don't want one. Everything else is either a 4-door rally car, a muscle car, no longer in production, or only modestly powered (TBH, a nice way of saying "severely underpowered"). |

I love my Z. Lemon it get your money back.

I've got a 2011 Roadster with 11K miles so far with (knock on wood) zero problems. No issues at all. It's a fun, reliable, value-packed sports car. Had an '07 350 Roadster and the 370 is soooo much better. I love my Z. Just my $.02

Not really sure what your vent is about? Any specific issues with your car?

the only problem on the Z that i think is a big deal is the fuel starve since it's not easy to fix. Oil coolers solve oil temp issues and I have a 2011 so oil consumption isn't a problem.
