Nismo wing or spoiler!? help!

I have the 2011 nissan 370z base model without sport package. And I reaelly want to put a nismo wing on but my friend says that it will be to big for the regular 370z body. is that true?

enkei2k 10-16-2012 02:02 PM

what's the difference between a nismo body and a non nismo body?

only things different outside is the front bumper, slightly lower and rims right? it's not like it's a totally different chassis.

NickTurnon 10-16-2012 02:24 PM

Evo-R wing...$800-1000

Actual Nismo wing costs over +$1500..

http://www.the370z.com/southern-cali...high-wing.html

Thats what it looks like on non nismo, non sport.

You can buy either a Seibon Nismo spoiler or the EvoR like stated above for a fraction of the price of the OEM Nismo one. If I were you, just buy a sport pkg spoiler.

forza370z 10-16-2012 03:19 PM

I would be fine IMO. Evo-R wing is acutally bigger than the stock Nismo wing but it looks nice and fit on a non-Nismo 370 so you'd be fine.

USMCASA 10-16-2012 04:03 PM

you're friend is retarded. kill him now so he can't reproduce...

the spoiler will fit

You can get a PAINTED color matched factory style spoiler on eBay for like $175... I had one on my Maxima, and it looked amazing!

Amuse370z 10-16-2012 06:25 PM

My choices if I were you, in this order:

1) Ebay sport spoiler ($135ish painted)
2) Seibon CF replica nismo spoiler
3) Nismo spoiler

NitrousZ34 10-16-2012 10:29 PM

Can someone provide the link for the ebay sport spoiler? I just tried typing it in on ebay, "370 sport package spoiler" "370z sport spoiler" and the only hits i got were the huge wings and the trunk glass spoiler.

I bought this one back in May 2011 and its still good! Paint matched and everything. Highly recommend this spoiler.

My only issue with the Nismo wing, is that it blocks rear vision. Maybe it needs to be higher or angled differently. Address this and I'm sure it will be fine.

cooltoy 10-17-2012 12:22 PM

EVOR-R is higher.

I like the Nismo over sport wing.

Waiz 10-17-2012 03:01 PM

You're friend should be ignored and unfriended

Quick370z 10-17-2012 04:30 PM

I got the Seibon spoiler and its slick..

cooltoy 10-17-2012 05:18 PM

If you are ever in Calgary (assuming they let you cross the border:D), I would not my mind having a look.

Thanks evrybody! all the input was much appreciated and considered!!! :D
I think i'm going to go with the Nismo sport package factory spoiler on ebay for 140 painted!!

370Z JT 10-18-2012 03:34 AM

So what is it? The sport spoiler or the nismo spoiler?

RoshDawg 10-18-2012 04:20 PM

The Seibon Nismo spoiler is absolutely great in my opinion. However, it is a little heavier than the sport spoiler and I have difficulty opening the trunk sometimes.. Still trying to figure out a solution. Anyways here are some pics of mine.
Also, getting it in CF looks great and does not require any paint. You will have to drill new holes though, but it will cover up the old ones from a sport spoiler.

That's not a Nismo spoiler, that's a sport spoiler. If you can afford more I would say either spend the extra money for a quality product (brand name) (that sport spoiler is not a genuine Nissan part) or just keep it stock until you can save up. Just my opinion, but who knows, it could be good quality, try to read reviews on it first. BTW my carbon fiber one cost me $590 from Stillen (not a Stillen product though).

ubs234 10-18-2012 06:03 PM

Oh wow carbon fiber wing for 590 is pretty good. And I want the spolier that u get with the sport package from Nissan. Idk what brand is good though?

Quick370z 10-18-2012 09:59 PM

^^ about right, got mine off ebay for that

Have you tried the 2-penny trick?

You can also get a longer Nismo hatch springs since the Nismo has a heavy spoiler too. This thread might be helpful.

:iagree:

Thanks for the tip!
Edit: wait I can't really find what the two penny trick is. Can you elaborate?

Damnit they actually call it 3-penny tricks(rich guys:icon17:). But yeah the more pennies the merrier.

Just did a quick search for ya... Read #24 post here.
http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...roblems-2.html

I am sure there is a lot descriptions about it out there if you do a search. Some might even provide the pix. This trick was originally provided by the 350z owners.

Hmm apparently the Nismo has longer springs AND some transparent rubber pieces that stick on the bottom of the hatch where the spring hits when closing... Interesting.

I think 370z Nismo has the same hatch springs as the 370z non Nismo ones. The longer spring you saw in the pix is actually for 350z. I just swapped out the springs for my Nismo from the dealership last month. It's funny one of their tech guys pointed out the transparent rubber pieces and asked me what was that. Apparently not all of them knows the car very well.:icon17:

RoshDawg 10-19-2012 11:12 AM

Thanks forza! Nice white nismo btw. If I were to choose a z again it would be that one.

What springs did you swap out with? Could you snap a pic of those transparent rubber pieces for us to see?

Thanks

No problem. I just took few pictures this afternoon. As you can see the new spring ordered from Nissan dealership looks no difference as the non nismo one(short spring). However the part number might be different. It's 84415-1EA2E. You also can see the transparent rubber piece from the pictures. The idea is essentially same as the 2-3 penny trick. I didn't know this differences between the nismo and the non nismo until I got this rear hatch stuck problem. After installed the new spring it works like a charm. Hope it helps...

Notice the rubber piece?

This is how it works - the springs are going to sit on top of the rubber pieces when close up the hatch.

To anyone saying the Nismo springs are different, you're 100% wrong... And Nissan had issues with the springs only on the 2009's, so if you have a 2009 go to the dealer, and they'll replace them...
Also, if you want to be really cool, do as I did, remove the factory plastic under the hatch and remove the pound and half weight that is bolted to the hatch!

PM me for info

HamZ 10-23-2012 11:59 AM

I'd go EVO-R

TheRattla 01-26-2016 12:00 PM

I am assuming its similar as older years... but would love 2 see some pics if anyones got them
