Make a police report

Here in CT you can call the DMV and tell them you need their info, most times they will willingly give it if like stated above there is a police record involved. If not, they cannot because it is a breach of private information. I don't know how it works in CA but you can always contact the DMV like CT allows. :tiphat:

Did you get her vin? I got hit and I took a picture of the following:
  • VIN on the door sill.
  • CA DL
  • Plates
  • Proof of Insurance

To answer your question, if you are a member of AAA, they can help you with it. They will ask you to file a police report so might as well go there and let them pick her up.

good luck

Make a police report and then file a claim, your insurance co will do all the leg work. You may be responsible for paying your collision deductible which will be refunded to you once they tracked her down. Good luck!

To start off, go here: CARFAX® - Official Site - Vehicle History Reports on Used Cars for Sale

Type in the plate number with the corresponding state, and you'll get the result back in forms of make, model, and even VIN.
