Driving with VDC off....
I've seen a variety of opinions expressed on driving with VDC off....ranging from "Don't do it EVER!!! You'll eat a curb" to "Turn it off and leave it off..it's a SPORT car!!"
I'm curious....what's your take on VDC? Mine? I leave it off all the time. Last edited by KSFastah; 10-03-2012 at 10:04 AM. |

I leave mine on, never touched the button to turn it off, no need to risk it, and the VDC has been non intrusive (i'm not a track guy, but do enjoy spirited driving).

I always leave mine on. I tried once to launch with VDC off and I just spun my tires through third gear!! Not fun when you are not really moving forward. I do like the assurance that there is computer (which can act faster than you) controlling throttle and brakes just in case you can't do it yourself in time.

If the street is wide open and you are the only one- i'd say do it. Have some fun. But you can still squeel your tires and leave rubber with the VDC on.. So if you are trying to show off, leave the VDC on! You wont end up like one of those crashed corvettes haha! |

I usually forget to turn it off on start up. If I need to get into traffic from a stop and certain turns need VDC off so I often scramble to push the button. The car is so much more spirited with it off. I voted sometimes. Mainly because I just do not remember.

If it's dry, VDC is off. It definitely is intrusive when getting on the gas out of a corner. If it's not for you, you're likely not pushing the car.

I have noticed the same thing about the car being more spirited with it off, to the point where I've been thinking about rewiring the VDC to be in the "normally off" condition.

i turn it off whenever i want to launch the car or if i want to slide around. also when driving fast in corners/ backroads i turn it off because when the vdc comes on it trips me up and the car is a bit unpredictable
