Any Sport Package Owners Wish They Bought the Nismo Instead?

Didn't vote, cause I don't have a Z yet. So I am debating this question myself.

Sport Pkg is more than enough. The Nismo is nice but the marginal performance difference does not in any way make Sport pkg less of a sportscar.

OP what is the point you are trying to prove?

What I see is people stick with they bought. Very few are going be sorry with what they picked.

I spent a few k on my sport and now I'd put it up against any NISMO. Luckily I have an awesome Z only tuner shop nearby. (Zcargarage in San Jose California).

If you have ease of upgrade like that, I would definitely recommend planning your own custom upgrades. If not (or if your not really interested in mechanical stuff) maybe a nismo is better balance of expense performance and attain ability.

I would have definitely gone for a nismo if it didn't just "look" fast. A car with that kind of body kit needs the power to match.

Agreed, if the Nismo had the touring options + nav, I'd have saved up more for it. But the price is about the same as a fully loaded Z, so it's more trading all the comforts vs bodykit+suspension tweaks.

All things are a rationalization to justify our own personal belief and desires. No way I'm telling you that after spending 40K on a Nismo it was a bad choice unless I have money enough to by Ferrari. Anyway, I bought a low mile used 10 Nis with a Pioneer Navi unit at the price of 12 base model. Love the one you're with! LOL Like

I want the Nismo. It cost too much.

Since I have both 370z sport and Nismo. I can tell you that I would rather have a vehicle tuned and built by the people who build the GTR the the 370z off the regular line.

The harder I push the nismo the better it responds. The faster I go the better it handles. Braking from high speeds is intense. I know both have the same brakes, but the Nismo seems to brake much better from high speeds 100+

Sure you can buy upgrades and bolt the on like, coil overs, sway bars, springs and other. Yet you don't have any of it tuned. It is just a mix of different parts designed with performance in mind not tested and tuned at a track for the best handling by the people design and build the GTR for the whole package.

It's like Jeremy says on TopGear when you buy a sports car buy it and use it to the limits buy the best performance model they make, because you will regret not getting it later when someone pulls up to you at a light or track and smokes you. If you plan to drive sports car like a spanner then get ford mondeo.

on mods: Unless you have a racing team that can fine tune all the adjustments and changes upgrades made by upgrades you are just wasting your money. The more fiddly bits the more experience it will take adjust it just the way you need it.

The Nismo was made to take to the track and enjoy with a versatile tune and handling package setup for a array of performance, aero, engine, chassis, and suspension. Also handle the city roads with ease.
Because no reputable company does the research and development to tune their product to the car they're making it for.

Agreed.

Both cars have the same achilles heel....truly epic fail brakes for a "sport" car.

I wasn't willing to pay up for the marginal performance gains knowing I could do a lot better in the aftermarket. The ricer rear spoiler is a wicked huge turn off too.

To each their own though, right?

I voted "No" because i ordered exactly what i wanted base + sport, couldn't be happier. If you do have a Nismo 370Z enjoy her, she was built to please.

calling the brakes an epic fail is not completely true. The calipers and rotors are great and will stop these babies on a dime. The stock pads and fluid are not sufficient for a real beating, and they should have run some cooling vents to them. But the brakes themselves are quite good. Nissan simply cheaped out on the consumable parts and didn't provide proper cooling.
