I also agree that a sports car should be defined by it's driving dynamics and not something stupid like the number of seats. I mean really, the smart car is a 2 seater coupe, but would you really call it more of a sports car than a 911 or GT-R?
No that doesn't count. |

I think a sports car is best defined that way because all the original definitions have blurred. An M5 is four seats, four doors, often called a sports sedan merely because it has four doors. Yet it can still crush a lot of its opposition, and I'm pretty damn sure it can crush the Z.

Too bad the Mustang can't crush anything. Damn live axle. It can't turn at all. :|

Be glad! Now it's gonna be an indepedent rear suspension, and it will look sort of like the MP4-12C (sort of). More like an Aston, really.

If it matches the M3 now... it will crush the Veyron with IRS.

Wait, isn't it an SUV? Seats four and 4WD or does it lack utility?

I wouldn't quite count any Mini in on being a sports car, in my opinion. Nor a Scion. Last edited by Haboob; 09-28-2012 at 04:01 PM. |

He was supposed to give his honest opinion, and he has. That's what he was paid to do. And that's why he wasn't selected for the driving session. The Z is out of the league of every car in that sample, I'm sure they expected his opinion being what it was.

I have to say I don't necessarily agree with the Genesis/Hyundai part. Before purchasing my Z I was actually in the market for a 3.8 Track Genny and I was trading in a 2011 Sonata. TBH, Hyundai has most certainly stepped their game up. Their cars are very well built - I never had a single problem with the Sonata and I put a ton of miles on cars quite fast.
As far as the Genny is concerned, they have done quite well with the price point and the latest GDI Theta engine. Very comfortable car and drives well. You can definitely feel the difference when you loose 300lbs going to a Z but the car still gets up. I ended up going for the Z because of Heritage, the way it felt like I was driving more of a sports car and less of a sports/luxury (like my SC300 in college), and lastly because I wasn't going to see the one I wanted on shore for another two months from when I purchased. Honestly, if the Koreans wouldn't have been on strike, there's a really good chance I would be driving the Hyundai right now. I definitely don't think the car is soulless. Just saying.. And that comment about Samsung is just ludicrous. The Galaxy SIII is disgusting, and I have absolutely loved my 46" LCD since the day I saw it sitting on the shelf in the store!

I thought the object was to test and review each car then give your opinion. Well i guess it worked out either way. If he really thinks like that about sports then it's best? lol. I just think that was a silly answer. |
