Evo X or 370Z???
Hey people. Just looking for some insight on the 370Z.
I'm thinking of trading my Evo X for a 350/370Z. If any of you have owned an Evo or STI your input would be much appreciated. Power wise the cars are similar. The Evos awd system never ceases to amaze me... but there is something awesome about a well balanced rwd car. Basically, I'm trying to decide if the 350/370Z will be as much fun to drive.... I would not be modifying it past basic bolt ons. Thanks for any input. |

I have good friends with a 350 and an Evo VIII. The Evo will spank the 350 all day, but it and my 370 are pretty close. I honestly love the feel of the Evo over my car. He's running only slightly higher boost, all else stock, and it really feels twice as fast as my car. I actually take issue with the feel of my Z. Everyone says that the power is "linear" so it doesn't feel as fast as it really is. At the end of the day, the 370 is a more refined car, and fun to drive for sure, but I miss the put you back in the seat feel.

Have you test-driven one? I'd try to get behind the wheel and see what you think
Do you drive your EVO in winter? What are you looking for? What do you like about your EVO, and what do you dislike? |

Evo = boy racer status, way more practical, great in all weather really, awd launch.
Z= Niche car, following the VQ technology a little more beefy a little more sexy but still a Nissan with typical Nissan iffies here and there. |

Owned a 350z a few years back and wrecked it in winter weather. Bought an Evo X and added Stg 2 mods + tune almost immediately. Enjoyed the whiplash that the boost gave me. But something was definitely missing. It lacked the sexiness of a RWD sportscar. I felt like a boy racer everytime I drove it. I just wasn't happy with it. 7 months passed and I traded it for a 370. I still miss the X from time-to-time. AWD + boost is a blast. But the driver satisfaction wasn't there for me. Let's just say I wouldn't trade my Z for another X

Depends on what you need it for. I live in SoCal so no snow. I mostly track my vehicles. I owned an 08 EvoX MR, but I felt like the car drove itself (especially with the SST). I decided to take my driving to a different level with my 2012 370z NISMO and love the challenge. Both cars are awesome in their own right, but I must say I am still about 5 seconds slower on the same track. More seat time will remedy that. Good luck on the decision. Can't go wrong.

EVO X if: You plan on going to the track at all, you live in an area with snow.
350Z if you: Want a RWD car and you want to go to the track. 370Z for every other situation. Of course I am assuming that if you are posing this question you have no need for the back seat/trunk space in your Evo. From a guy who has owned an Evo 8 and an Evo 9 but never an X. Have driven a few though.

370 > 350 for sure. I've owned both and the 370z is far superior. 3 of my buddies had 04-07 Sti's that were heavily modified (FP Green Turbo...) and while they felt really fast, especially from a dig, they weren't. Especially when stock. Also my buddy had a stage 2 Evo 9 and while it's a cool car it still isn't a Z. My buddy tried to pull on me in his 9 and it didn't do much, and that was from almost a standstill. Plus that was before I did any bolt-ons
The 370z is a great RWD car and like the others said its super sexy and much more mature than the EVO, though the X is a big step up from its predecessors. The Z will be plenty quick for you and when you hit the twisties you'll have a hard time wiping the smile from your face. My dad owns a B7 RS4 and that thing is QUICK but I still prefer my Z in terms of driver satisfaction. I don't think I can ever own AWD cars that aren't SUVs. (Unless the only other option is FWD)

I've owned 2 350Z's and I had the original WRX when it first came out in 2001 (as an '02 model). The 370Z is a different animal altogether.
Never owned an EVO but I have a friend with a modded EVO IX. Brutal acceleration (he walks me pretty good on a 30 roll), but my Nismo handles better.
