If you want Z but want to retain the really racey feel of the EVO X, try looking at a used Nismo. I say used because the new ones are going for 45k :0

@OP just the other day i raced a modded evo x in my stock nismo Z and i beat him(not by much but i did beat him) he had a full exhaust, Cat delete, and running 17psi off the stock turbo while my car was just a stock nismo(compared to the base Z all thats different is exhaust, tune, and weight) and tbh if a stock nismo Z will be some modded evos, there is alot of potential for a full bolton Z with a tune i think full bolton Zs make close to 350whp with a tune and you might be able to make more |

this was at a drag strip as well not a road course, the closest track is willow springs and that like a 8 hour drive and im not willing to make that drive unless its a special occasion |
It’s quite a hard choice. They both are quite similar in design and power. I think you should choose the evo X.

To the OP - if you have to ask then get the EVOX or whatever that 4 door sedan is called.

I would get the evo x, I wish I would have instead of getting the z.

well i can already see 2 posts that are gonna turn this into another evo X vs. 370Z love fest....please people, keep the drama to a minimum. they are both great cars with their strengths and weaknesses just like any car, no need to put one on a pedestal over another just because YOU think it is the best car in the world

a stock Z is about 250-260whp(estimate again) so another 100whp from full boltons(exhaust, CAI, heads, cams, light weight flywheel, lightweight pully, ect.) isnt unrealistic but you would have to be tuned for everything, untuned you would only really gain like 30whp from everything but im also a z noob so chances are that im wrong |
Keep em both!
If you are looking for opinions: The EVO X and the 370Z are both beautiful and powerful in their own right. I bought a 2012 370 Z Nismo 6 months ago, love it... but needed a daily driver.... traded in my Lexus GS and bought a 2011 Evo X MR 2 weeks ago.... love it. Like being married with a mistress (figure it out:icon23:) . Plan on modding the hell out of the EVO, but keeping things mild with the NISMO for the time being. EVO is much easier to mod and tune as you know... As far as p***y appeal. Get far more mature looks with the Nismo... but occasional young stares and smiles in my X ;) I'd keep them both... livin' the dream!

you cant go wrong with either car, i actually wanted an EVO X GSR before i got my Z, i decided on my nismo after reading alot of reviews and seeing both cars in person as well as test driving both of them |
SRT8 Cherokee. Mind you this one has 750hp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXr8H...eature=related

If you like soulless cars

I just bought a 2012 PW NISMO Z 6 Months ago and I just ordered a 2013 Evo X GSR fully loaded. BTW which fully loaded the interior is far superior to the z. Also I love the Z but I couldnt stand being without boost. I came to the conclusion that I thought i was going to mod my z but when looking at getting good power gains and i cant live without boost, I wasnt ready to drop 15g+ on a TT kit for my z. So I got the Evo x in wicked white on order with all options availiable for the same price as a nismo z. I am selling my z and couldnt be happier about the choice i made. I got comments on the z alot but i care more about my driving experience than what other ppl think of my car either way i still get from A-B fast.

Hes high for sure. The x has recaros and thats it, but the dash and everythng else feels like playschool made it, so don't kid yourself. The Z's interior especially the touring is way ahead. |

The recaros then were also the ****. The evo interior is shared with the lancer, which costs about 20k so yeah..... The X recaros however are killer seats. The amount of hold and support. |

Ideal world you could have both :) |
I persoanlly dont like the way the evo
Looks, i will go as far to say it is the ugliest car for sale today. Besides the freaky boxy angry taillight looks, its a excellent car that i would love to own. I guess im just really into astetic appeal, and not so much practicality/0-60 numbers. I like the way the evo 8 looks, i dont know what it is about the 10 it just makes me gag |
^
I agree, they look like a catfish from the front. I preferred the 9 the best! |
One is a sedan, the other is a sports car... they look and act the part so, they're easy to side with in a clear cut fashion; at least in my view.
|
Stock for stock the 370 is a bit faster. Interior wise Z is much better.
My friends have MODed evo 10's I have driven my friends new 2012 multiple time and honestly I expected so much more...I felt like I was sitting in a KIA, the gearbox isnt solid, the clutch is too soft...The end of the the day, if your looking for flat out performance and a track toy the get the X. If your all about numbers and you are going to blow lots of dough on performance mods the X is for you... The Z is much more fun in the canyons even if your taking it easy...and comon we all know it just so much sexier than all these other sports cars we see on the street. |

1. Evo is faster, hands down. Whether its drag, road or any other type of racing. Maybe if you are doing gay *** races from a roll that proves nothing...maybe the Z is faster. I raced my Z on both time attack and drag strip, same with my X and i got alot better times with the X. Even the specs of each car, the X comes out on top. Z is quoted what 13.8-13.6 on the 1/4 mile? Best i got with Stillen CAI was 13.8. The X is quoted at 13.5 and thats what i fit the day i bought the car, bone stock with 300kms on the odo. 2. The gearbox (GSR) personally i think its a POS. I hate the notch feeling, especially shifting to 3rd. My base, shifter cable and underhood bushings, along with my TWM shifter cage and MT-85 fluid made it abit better. But to make that feeling go away, i gotta send my transmission in to get rebuilt by a company (still depending if i want to since im already sending my tcase down to get rebuilt) 3. The clutch is really hit or miss, i like the feel alot more then the Z. The Z had alot of chatter and felt really loose. However, its also hit or miss how long the clutch lasts in the X. Mine lasted 14,000km before it started slipping. My buddies lasted 7,000km (both of us race). Others that dont beat on their cars lasted 60,000+km. Basically if you beat on the car at all, the clutch is gone, as where i found the Z's clutch was abit more forgiving. |
I would rather have an Evo X personally and wait a few years and buy the 370z at a discount
|
370z over Evo all day everyday :driving:

The Evo X rides rougher, more aggressive, and stock is slower on the top end. The Z rides smooth, feels like a grand tourer. They are in two different worlds. You have to justify what YOU want out of a car.
Yes, i've owned both and an Evo 8 before. |

Evo is a great car, I can't accept the fact it looks like a boy-toy sports car. Practically looks like a Lancer with a huge spoiler, interior is horrendous except the seats. Great performer, just doesn't have that sexiness and is a real deal breaker.
|
Bought and owned a 2012 z for about 8 months. Did a lot of asthetic mods and all the bolt ons. Just traded it in for a new evo x. I absolutely love it so far. The stock tune on these things is a little crappy out of the factory, but every gear it feels like the car wants to lift off. 370z and evo x are just two different cars. Overall I am very happy with my decision so far :)
