340WHP AP1 S2K 1/4 result?
Friend of mine told me that he went to drag strip last weekend, and he claimed me that he finished 1/4 mile(11.9@120mph)
with his turbo charged 340WHP AP1 S2K with slick tire. I doubt that his statement can be ture. Is it possible to happen? Or he's trying to be a douchebag? hmmmmm... |

It's possible if he's lightened the car, or running some other equipment.
It's hard to tell whether or not he's bullsh!tting you, but there's a lot of factors he didn't tell you. My personal opinion? Bullsh!t.

hmm yes a lot of factors come into play BUT the S2K is a really light car stock....and well 340whp is a nice number to push that car.....add slicks to that and that means he could probably launch the crap out of the car....sooo imo it seems possible.

340WHP can get you to 11's if your car weighs at the most 2700 Lbs. I've seen it many times. A friend of mine has a Datsun that weighed (at the time) 2700 with about 350WHP and ran 11.8 or 11.9 (I can't recall) on tiny street tires. Now he's running 10's with his new setup (420WHP @ 2300Lbs). Another friend with an LS1 Datsun with 315WHP @ 2600Lbs ran a 12 flat on the crappiest tire possible.
So it's possible and likely if he's running a LIGHT car.

IIRC, AP1 S2000s weigh anywhere from 27xx-2800 lbs. With 340 RWHP, slick tires and good driver - anything is possible. Ask him for a track slip.

Your friend is absolutely correct. S2ks only dyno 195-210 whp stock and still run in the mid to high 13s. Ap1s dyno about 10 whp lower than ap2s and still can break into high 13s so imagine almost doubling its whp. 11s is more than possible esp with slicks. The car weighs 27XX keep that in mind.

It's not impressive honestly. Drive that car and you'll see why it's so light. It has absolutely NO amentities. Sound insulation is at a MINIMUM. At 75mph on the fwy, you cannot have a normal conversation with your passenger without raising your voice and this is with the top up. The gear ratios are so short that you're revving at like 4k at 75ish. It's definitely not for everyone. Suspension is so stiff that you wonder how the chassis takes all that beating sometimes. You have no interior room. If you're anything above 6 and 160 lbs, you most likely won't fit. It's one of the greatest track cars but that's it. The reason why i'm so passionate about the 370 is because i find that the 370 does everything pretty well. From what i've experienced, it's much more daily friendly than the s, does well in the track, pretty well mannered when you want it to be, etc.

Except the GTR is refined... LOL
The drag racing calculators don't take a lot of things into consideration like wind speed, temperature, track conditions, elevation, etc. They assume absolutely perfect conditions with the worlds best driver. I don't use those calculators at all... I usually doing estimates in my head and that works perfectly!
