There's a fine line between the two and I don't appreciate either.

I've always been astonished by how little these guys know about such a small product portfolio. I knew more about these cars as a kid with a ravenous appetite for car magazines.

With my Z order, my salesman knew his stuff - and that which he didn't, he promptly went to the computer to confirm instead of guessing.

I was lied to when I bought my Z. I was just going by to look at them and the salesperson told me that the '12's were faster than the GT-R. The added oil cooler to keep the temps down and a bump on hp by tuning the ecu. I thought this was all nonsense but thought heck he works for Nissan so must be true so I signed my name on the dotted line....you can imagine my surprise when I lined up next to a GT-R and got smoked

So even though the above story is fictitous...the moral of the story is to not believe a salesperson.

Sent from a device that's smarter than me.

The are lying because they don't know.

If a person who does not know an answer to a question, instead of saying honestly "I do not know, but I will find out for you." and makes up an answer that is not true - they are lying.

That is a guy that deserves respect. There is nothing wrong with saying "I do not know".

I make a six figure salary and am considered an expert in my field, but if I BS'ed through my job every time I did not know something, I would have been out on my *** a long time ago.

It's funny you say that. In my 5 years in my career I've encountered several senior coworkers that have built their entire career on this practice. As long as you can shoot from the hip and sound convincing doing it, there's plenty of money to be made in the art of BS'ing.

Easiest way to tell if a salesman is lying: look at their face. Are their lips moving and are words escaping through the air and falling on your ears? If so, the salesman is lying.

Unfortunately, I have seen people like that as well, but in the engineering field that approach doesn't work. People like that tend to gravitate to sales.

LOL. There is a guy where I work (senior network engineer/architect) who is like that. Unbelievably incompetent but he can talk the talk.

The company i work for spent over 2 million in network equipment and we have had more downtime than ever since this guy started... The competent guy got so fed up with him he quit.

Why was he hired and put above the previous guy? Because he looked better on paper and had more certifications/qualifactions. I only do some networking stuff (mostly linux sysadmin) but also full switch/router access so kind of a junior network admin as well. Well even I have encountered tons of times where he is doing things amazingly retarded that really show he doesn't know WTF he is doing.

Also blames someone else and makes excuses. Nothing is ever his fault. I hate people like this. Another junior network level guy fired as he used him as his scapegoat. Luckily for me networking isnt even part of my job description I just happen to do it and took on some extra responsibilities. I am glad he can't do that crap to me.

Nissan's website has a dealer locator and can check dealer inventory for you. It will tell you exactly if they have one with sport package.

not all car sales men are liars, when i picked up my Z, the car sales man i was working was very honest, when i asked him about the nismo z he told me all that was really different was the amount of horse power, the exhaust, and the body kit(which is true) and when i asked him about the touring+sport vs the nismo he told be that the main difference was that the touring had luxury like heated seats, sat nav, ect. and the nismo didnt have any of that but it was the better performance car off the lot

needless to say he sold me the nismo 370z for 35k OTD and after i picked up lowjack, a car alarm, and a few other accessories it was about 37K OTD

now that was at the local nissan dealer here so idk how it is at nissan specific dealers out side of my city but i had a wonderful experience

now used car sales men are a whole other topic but we all should expect used car sales men to lie to us

I decided to go ahead and test drive it. Even without the Syncro Rev Matching its a hell of a car. The seat is a bit snug for me in the back because I'm a big guy, and my belly almost hits the steering wheel when I'm far enough in to press the clutch. Even with all that, the car is pretty amazing, I just don't think its quite big enough for me to use as a daily driver.

If only they made a Z car with 1 seat in the middle like a Formula 1 car.

Guess I'll test drive a Mustang (with Recaro seats) and a Challenger next.
I test drove a WRX STI as well, that was a pretty comfortable car, not too snug and in the same price range used.

I'm open to all suggestions for Fat people in Sports cars, let me know what I should test drive :driving:

The reason I left car sales when I did.. I love cars and they're a passion of mine (obviously) but battling the stigma and stereotype really bugged me.. I wasn't your typical sales guy and true I was still in the training process but I hated being seen as a rattlesnake in a suit, and having people hate me for no reason. Then i found out in order to get anywhere thats what you had to become i bailed. That along with being told "it's your job to get Rick his Lear jet". Call me crazy I loved cars and loved sales and working with people, but commission sales is brutal and cut throat. Guess my morals got in the way of personal advancement.. Lol

You got yourself a Base+touring+sport wing... I bought my Z used and god bless the dealershit, they didn't know it had sport package, so I bought it under KBB trade in value, LOL!!!!
