So here goes. I bought one back in January and with it the dealership threw in
a year's worth of free oil change's. So i go in today and get my oil changed.
been following the 3750 mile rule. let me add my car is a DD so i will put between 18,000 to 20,000 on my car in a year give or take. so after they finish will the oil change the girl behind the counter say's, and i quote 'your free oil change's are used up and she want be paying for anymore". wtf! i told her about my extended
warranty and the oil change was good for one year. there never was any mention of how many in a one year period. it said free oil change's for one year.
and the one year wasn't up yet. she more or less said tough xhit.

long story short when i get home i call and talk to the GM. he tries to give me the texas two step but backs down and agrees to honor it until dec. 31st.

didn't mean to ramble on but was i out of line. and over react over this.....

I know it kind of sucks but they've got to put some kinds of limits on that. You can expect them to do 15 free oil changes if someone decides to rack up 5k a month on their car. At least you got them to honor it.

I don't think you were out of line.

you bought it in January and you were told you get a year's worth of free oil changes.. so you're covered till this January. this is provided they never put any stipulations on a maximum amount of oil changes you can get a year. how many did you get this year? oil changes cost the dealership next to nothing anyway. I might've complained about them trying to rip you off and made him honour the agreement until the end of January

Dealers try to get you anyway they can... it's not about making a customer happy, it's about saving a dollar.

I bought a certified used Honda Fit about a month ago and the dealer has been trying to screw me ten ways to Sunday. It's certified, meaning that there are guidelines the dealer has to follow, and things that they must replace.

My floor mats were gross and by Honda's guidelines, they need to be replaced if they are in poor shape. I demanded new floor mats. I got slightly better shape ones from another used car. I had to go all the way to the GM to get a new set of floor mats, even after threatening to contact Honda of America.

Same deal with my wheel lug locks. I bought the car with lug locks, but there was no key and after getting a nail in the tire, I had no way to remove it. I had to raise hell about that after them telling me I needed to buy a new set.

These are all things that I was entitled to, and they weren't willing to help make the situation right. Express your disappointment to the management team and if they are doing their jobs properly, they will make you happy.

Yes you were out of line when you did not ask to talk to the gm face to face. Instead of calling him when you got home when that 6unt at the front desk told you tuff shizz!

But as far as: There never was any mention of how many in a one year period. It said free oil change's for one year. That is there bad! Come on really cars are driven and used for commute put something in writing or have that get abused. Good thing they honored it.
