Bought a FD instead
Hi guys
I think i was the 1st Australian member on this site , back then i was considering purchasing a 370Z but changed my mind and got myself a Mazda FD Spirit R TYPE A . The price of the 370 Z here in Australia and a few other bits and pieces put me off the purchase . Cheers Michael |

FD = the last generation (and one of the most sought after generations) of the RX7. The package he got in addition is also very much in demand but hard to find.
That's awesome, dude. Pics?

I like FDs, but not with that motor. LSx swap? Sure. But rotary motors = GET DOWN IT'S GUNNA BLOW!

Really? That I didn't know. I'll have to ask my friend who's obsessed with RX7s if he knows about that. I'm sure he does. I tease him all the time about how people blow those motors up and put LS1s in because they want their car to be fast with a bi-product of being reliable! LOL

One of my friends is a college student at MSOE, he wants to buy either and FC or FD body, replace the rotary with an LS2, convert the LS2 to a diesel set up, rebuild the block, turbocharge the diesel with VGT's, then change the rear wheels to 335's with 295's in the front, give it a fully functional downforce kit, roll cage, carbon fiber/aluminum interior, and downpipes. Holy ****, he better be balling.
EDIT: Also:

If you're still a student, you can just look into SAE ... "society of automotive engineers."

Turbo + LSx + built bottom end = 1000BHP! Warhawk LSx + built bottom end + turbo = 2000+WHP!!! Why spend all that money on the conversion when you can do more for less?

Great choice Michael! I have always liked the FD's.
I used to have a S5 FC with a Trust 3037 which was crazy. There's nothing like a rotary coming on full boost with an external gate! Oh yeah! |
