2013 Z.. opinions
i was delivering a stealership today and i spotted 2 new z's and a used '10. sitting in a row. one was midnight blue w/ sport, the other a black base. the 2010 was a black sport. honestly, i love the blue color and the sport wheels are growing on me, i dig them. the new base wheels on the other z where terrible. those where my first thoughts when i seen them.
i had to go back later in the day to pick up packages and i started looking at them again. i do not like the new front ends, the 2 black z's sitting side by side gave a really good comparison. i wish i had my phone in my pocket i woulda taken pics. the older style just does it for me. also who ever owned the '10, they need to be smacked, how could they let the car get so dirty. the paint looked amess. lol shamefull |
I like the new front better. More grown up. More refined.

I dont mind the new ones... they are growing on me.

I've ownwed both, 13' is much better.

Oh boy! I was really hoping we'd get another '13-bashing thread this week! Mine must be epic fail with not only the "350Z bumper" but I also have the "terrible" 18" rims - I'm ashamed to even take it out of my garage...

lol :icon18: still a gorgeous looking Z!!!

The base rims for sure are a serious improvement over base. I'm not feeling the front end, but the side view is a mild improvement. Lakeshow's statement about softer suspension and lighter-weighted steering is kind of a let-down though.
|
that was the first time i seen a newer one up close, and was really cool to see it side by side with the older one. none of the statements from the first post would deter me from buying a new one... who doesn't like new. also where the new base rims on the older style convert? i could be wrong maybe just look similar.
|
Finally got to see some in person today and I'm sold on the front end and new sport rims.
|
Not a fan of the new front end, but I do like the new wheels, both base and sport. The Base wheels have a lot of depth and dimension to them now.

Your 2nd comment is so true as I have received great comments about my rims, got the sport rims though, but they've been bashed on here as well. Quote:

What has been criticized and rightfully so is that the Z had the most subtle refresh compared to other cars yet has the second highest price hikes after the BMW 1/3 series and camaro SS. Mustang has made dramatic changes with a very low increases over the last 4 years. So has hyundai genesis coupe. Mazda Rx-8, mitsubishi evo and subaru wrx have only had mild changes with mild price hikes to match. Not comparing the cars as performers... But what we got as a refresh package by price and features. New shocks, front fascia and mild bump in quality in the lower cockpit doesn't quite ring as an "epic refresh". Just like the gencoupe, the front end is hit or miss... And even over there they don't seem to be as offended by differing opinions as here. In the end, we love the Z and we still think the Z is a great car. Some won't agree which way the Z is going. I'm not a proponent of catering to the U.S. soft azzes when europe, middle east and asia seem to be happy with the Z34. We're the only country with Z issues and bullying nissan into selling out due to our corporate influence in the global market through mass negative publicity. We already have mustangs and bimmers. We don't need the Z to be like them. |
