How are your hands positioned while driving?
Moving from a truck I find that holding one hand at 12 doesn't work as well when playing with the car. Its a bad habit I started mainly because it is comfortable. I have since tried to keep my left hand at the 9 position while I switch gears and get on it, however I find that it feels weird and is almost harder to grip, although I know this is the preferred way to hold the wheel.
Just curious how you guys drive the Z.

9 and 3 gives the most feedback and control of the vehicle. Normally that's how I keep my hands unless it's a long ride, then I get lazy and rest one on either the shifter or the doorsill.

One hand on my cellphone to text, the other on my 44oz Double Gulp.
I steer with my knee and shift with my elbow.

Do you guys not find that 9 is a little low when shifting? If I was to grab the wheel comfortably by left hand would be at 10, but at 10 you dont have the "spoke" of the steering wheel to grab onto and I can easily see my hand slipping on the wheel (just as I could at 12).

9 and 3 only when I know the airbags are going to deploy. This way I don't break my arms in the process.
Sometimes when I'm driving casually on the local streets, left hand is at 2 and right hand is on the shifter/holding girlfriends' hand at the same time. Apparently it's cool for them to learn how to shift with their left hands lol. |

9 and 3. That is what driving coaches recommend. I don't understand how spokes of the wheel get in the way of shifting. Don't have that problem...at least with a stick.
