350 felt like a lexus compared to the s so im assuming the 370 will do 165+ no sweat unless it's gearing limited. The 350 at 135 had a lot more juice left but i ran of runway. 156 in the s i am lucky to be alive. i thought the entire car was gonna fall apart.
Electronically limited. The gearing is fine. There's a thread on this forum somewhere with the theoretical top speed (which I believe was 198MPH) based on gearing and red-line.

But this car won't see 160+ without mods. Stock it'd be lucky to see 160 at all unless you're at sea level. I think with full bolt-ons it will see 170-ish speeds.

for those talking about the 155mph limiter not being there,

think of this factor: the speed o is not 100% accurate especially in 100mph+ speeds. If your speed o is showing 160mph, i wouldn't doubt that your actually doing something like 145 or 150.

as a matter of fact, I'm tempted to open semtex's video again and count the lines to see the accuracy.
not saying the limiter isnt there, just a factor to consider until someone can come with a solid factual answer about the limiter. (i cant).

Well, you can use a GPS system next time to see your speed. Most phones these days have that built in. Mine is VERY accurate. I've used it a few times instead of the speedometer on long trips.

I would honestly question the speedometer then (especially if it's stock because the computer limits you to 155). I've done a lot of math on this (as seen in other threads) about how much power it takes to get to certain speeds based on aerodynamics, weight, rolling resistance, power, etc.

Take a GPS system with you next time to see how fast you're REALLY going, because I really don't think those speedos are that accurate beyond 100MPH.

My Honda VTX1300 is 10% too high, which also means that the odometer rolls 10% too fast, and my gas mileage is 10% better on paper.

My Honda Civic is the same way - there was a class action lawsuit over it, where I could have put in a claim - except it had to be on leases and we bought ours...

Having said that, I don't know what Nissan does - if it's something where all the japan cars are like that or not.

It's VERY common that stock gauges aren't accurate. That's part of the reason people go with aftermarket gauges. Tachs obviously being the most popular since those are the time critical elements. Since speedometers aren't usually important to racers, they're rarely replaced.

The signal they get from the computer is usually right, but the mechanical electronics and/or microprocessor in the factory gauges suck. Most GM tachs are as much as 500RPM off at any one time. LOL

the european Zs are limited to 155mph. the ones in asia arent as they used to be 180km/h and now they're not.

i've done mine up to 260kmh @roughly 6k rpm. i guess more is possible but the oil temp was off the roof and i ran out of road.

i've heard all cars are capable of going over 170mph ,that is pushed off a cliff with enough drop, galliao proved that centuries ago

Just to throw it out there for the speed limiter debate...The M3's are known to be up to 8% fast on the speedo. So it is a possibility, like mentioned already, that you may not have actually gotten to the true 155mph mark even though the speedo read so.

That being said, on my race on a totally legal racetrack heading towards Houston, I raced one of yous guys and we I was barely gainging on him and I was showing a couple clicks over 160.

Yep. I'd like to see it with a GPS before I believe it. Supposedly the last owner took my car up to 175MPH, but that could have easily been 160MPH. Who knows how accurate these gauges are.

Sometimes when I come to a complete stop, my Heads Up Display still says 2 MPH for a second or two and then quickly rolls down to 0 MPH. LOL
