Got a ticket in the Z today...
I got pulled over 10 times in my Maxima with no tickets... First time I've been pulled over in the Z, ticketed for 50 in a 35, the officer said I was going 57 though...
Who wants to PayPal the broke student to help pay for his ticket?!?!?! Lol But expect a few items to go on sale... Berk HFC's to go first... |
You're gonna sell your mods to pay a ticket? That sucks. :(

I know the Z isn't a cheap car, but I bought it mainly because insurance paid me SOOOOO well on my Maxima that got totaled... And I have emergency money, but not dumb expense money... Ex: ticket... I know it's my fault, but I wasn't trying to speed in all honesty |
That must be one hellatious ticket:eek:

I'm going to request the engineering and traffic survey. It was weird to me that the officer wrote "safe speed 40"... Never seen or heard of that before. Maybe someone knows more about the area it was on PCH in Hermosa Beach at 190th I think... |
Was it in Irving, Carrollton or Farmers Branch, those 3 suck and are known for giving hella tickets in DFW without giving warnings.
|
Sorry, at Artesia:

Any chance for driving school in your area? I lucked out and had the option to take a saturday class, 2 hours in the morning, which cleared my record.

And I live in Texas |
Hey, since you're out of state might want to check into this stuff:
Do Out of State Speeding Tickets Follow You To Your State? My friend got pulled over with me in Ohio when we were driving across the country, both of us were NJ residents at the time. He had to pay a fine but didn't get points. |

Good luck man

Fudge! I got my first speeding ticket of my life today. (and I'm 31)
65 in a 60 (I was going a little over 70, but he knocked it down, I guess because I was nice and didn't try and ******** him. I was on the way to a client meeting that was friggin 60 miles away, and he was posted up beside his cycle on the freeway using radar. He saw me, pointed at me, and pointed at the shoulder. I abided before he was even on his bike. |

15 over, hire a lawyer and let him get it reduced to 9 over. then there are no insurance points. see if you can request a prayer for judgement, if you haven't used it in the past 3 years. hiring a lawyer will save you in the long run. i should know i've had 7 tickets in less than 3 years but my Z is yellow...

I think Texas has something similar to what you're talking about. But I am 100% sure CA doesn't operate like that, we have a no frills ticketing system any moving violation counts as a point if you lose in court |

You need to get a radar my Z compadre. :tiphat: |

Option two... Plead no contest. Take a drivers-ed class. Probation is 12 months with the same deal as deferred. The most you save in doing drivers ed is $30. So i choose defrred and save myself 9 months of bullshyt. Don't believe the hype. Radars work!!!! |

I'm wondering if it is possible to win the ticket by saying, I was in the far right lane going 35-40 which is a speed that the officer indicated was a safe speed to travel and there was a parked FedEx truck with flashers on blocking the right lane (No parking is allowed on that lane at that time of day), and no one was letting me in, (the officer even said, "I know no one was probably letting you in, but 57 is just a bit too fast[I wouldn't include this part in the argument]") and at that moment I was too close to hitting the truck to hit the brakes and I decided to accelerate because I saw and opening because someone ahead of me was letting me in... Any lawyers out there that think this can win on trial by written declaration??? |
Oh yeah, my car is blue... And moronically loud, especially when you punch it to merge over to get into a small gap before you nail a FedSex truck
|
There are some weird loop holes out there regarding speed traps/speed surveys that can likely get you out of the ticket even though you were 100% at fault. Do some googling, my buddy used to use this basic outline from a motorcycle forum he found and it worked wonders. He's literally gotten out of 3 speeding tickets and they were much further above the speed limit.

Yep, I got that down too, Hermosa Beach doesn't have it online, so I have to go to their city hall and request it from them, which is A-OK by me if it saves me $$$ |

For $93 it's not worth my time to take work off, travel all the way there and dispute it. |
I beat a speeding ticket last March. The ticket said I was traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone on PCH in Signal Hill.
You should fight it. Only dumbA$$z pay tickets. |

If you cant pay to play, don't speed. Or mod, for that matter.

If you want to beat this: Help! I Got a Ticket!
I'm betting you got pulled over for CVC22350 (it should be on your ticket). The website will tell you step-by-step how to beat it. |

Do everyone a favor and fight your ticket! |
I'll consider fighting it. If I need to burn a vacation day to do so, then it's not happening. Sorry, but I'm not going to sacrifice that kind of money for a $93 ticket.

If you decide to fight a ticket using a lawyer, be prepared to shell out tons of $$. Lawyers are expensive.
|
I gotta ticket when I first got the z. 80 in a 45!! Was showing my friend the car in the back roads and there just so happened to be a cop:shakes head: I took him to court without a lawyer and won!!! he wrote the wrong location on the ticket. GO TO THE TIPMRA.COM
