I was actually more raised in CA, and was in Texas for about a year and half, now back in CA to take care of my family... (Gramps is like 86 and has hard core dementia and Alzheimer's, and mom has gone to the hospital several times recently and has had several surgeries)

What always trips me out about going back to Canada (Not the French parts) is that the people are SOOOOO DAMN NICE... LOL
Haha I dunno about the nice part man. I was driving my Z today and jesus christ people were so rude. Every time I tried to change lanes some twit was trying to box me out, at one point I actually missed an exit because of it. I wasn't trying to race ahead of traffic or anything either, just cruising with the flow and put on my blinker and bam no one is letting me over even though the exit is a quarter mile away I have a feeling it was simply because I was in the Z.. I seem to run into that a lot

I even had a ten year old kid (on a bicycle) flip me the bird at a light for no apparent reason. I'm still confused about that one.

sorry about your family, my folks live in CA too.

Cop's are very generous unless you do something stupid that they saw. One example is that i was following a car that was going 35 in a 55 and I passed him on a solid dotted line at 60, just as I did that, a cop crested the hill and gave me a $500 ticket. It sucks but, when you go from a semi crappy car to a some what performance car they get ya' and get ya' hard.

Just get like extensions on your ticket once you get it ( I think you get 3 months maxed) you have to extend it every month before it is due. Then after that set up a 3 month payment plan .

Doesn't sound like it would have mattered what kind of car you were in

I have a Porsche carrera s. I never get pulled in my 370z, but I was driving the 911 that day. they target nicer cars in cali, because they think you can pay for it, but what they don't understand it that we spend our paychecks on cars, and parts.

They target nicer cars here as well, a Z is a nice car here, especially if its a younger driver ticket right away!

I may have to agree with the youner driver statement....by rights I should have been pulled over at least twice....and twice it didnt happen...I am an older female driver....Ithink they totally blow off even thinking I am going to drive contrary to the laws....they are somewhat WRONG, but hey!

A lot depends on what the cops job is , if they are a traffic, speed trap, motorcycle meter maid, state cop, county sherriff , then most likely they will ticket everyone they stop.

Usually the regular patrol cops may give you a break, its these dedicated traffic cops that simply don't care and write everyone up.

Perhaps the real reason was you drove really too fast to make the cop to believe what he saw was the reality. That also tells us you are not as old as you might thought you are.

I recently received my second ticket within a year of owning my Z.....what can I say, I drive my Z as for what it was built for. First ticket was a month after purchasing my Z going 80 in a 65 area. Funny story, so I missed my exit and got off at the next exit to do a U. When CHP gave me the ticket he said "I was going so fast that when he went after me I was pulling away from him and the only reason he caught me was cause I had exit the freeway" Second ticket, driving 90 in a 65 (good thing he didn't catch me when I was doing 150)
