Tough to drive the 370Z slow...

I went out the other day, and it was tough to stay mellow...I just got lucky...

It just begs to be driven fast....

I KINDA agree, but I notice that the faster a car is the slower more mellow I drive it... I will accelerate like a SOB TO the speed limit with a fast car... But in my first car 2001 Toyota Avalon, I drove like a maniac... MANIAC...

It gets harder to drive slow when the car purrs the more you fix it up and the better the ride gets... gotta enjoy that as much as possible fellas

Why not? Mine has front and rear facing lidar detectors. They work just fine and warn me all the time.

I am 52 now, so I do bursts of speed rather than constant fast driving..

Back in the day, full speed from point A to point B, no matter what I was driving, or 10 miles or 600 miles..Full speed. I knew the top speed of every car I drove, mine or not,haha..So if you lent me your car, I beat on it..

Now it is just quick runs..370Z or Z/28.. a lot of 0 to 70 runs..

Would I love to do a top speed run in the 370Z ? Oh yes, but only on a closed track..Too much to lose now.

If you have ever used a Lidar gun you'd see, at 100 meters the beam is only about a foot in diameter, and cops USUALLY point it at your plate of lights. Also, it does not deflect like radar does... If you get Laser alerts all the time, either your detector has problems or its picking up the car... (Something on the inside of our cars sets it off)
And once the guy has pointed it at your car and had pulled the trigger, it's over, he has your speed... Laser uses direct pulses and takes no time to be read by the gun, and I mean NO TIME, only a jammer or absorber or whatever it's called can truly protect against laser... Even then, when the officer gets an error, he'll move to a different part of the car, where you don't have a jammer...

(Btw, the error messages Lidar guns give are sometimes displayed with "Speed 88", LOL!!! So sometimes you can get royally screwed)

(My info comes from using and being half trained to use a Lidar gun properly from the CHP... They have a repair shop across from where I used to work... I tried everything to beat that SOB, lol)

Lol, I really don't beat on others cars! I'm glad I never lent you my car... (Although I tell people to beat on it actually)

My buddy used to max his 370 almost every weekend when he first bought his car in Florida... He showed me pictures, lol... 165 or so, he has the 7AT... I'm glad he doesn't super speed anymore though

no offense bud, if you can't afford a speeding ticket you can't afford the car... Not meant to be trolling or anything but you may want to examine your priorities

Haven't had one in awhile, only ticket i got in the 350 was for window tint(fingers crossed) but I beat the ticket for a traffic violation by being extremely prepared and having an answer for any question the officer could muster up....always a chance they cant make it too ;)

I got a 100 in a 55 recently, he did "failure to obey traffic control devices" $111 fine, no points. I need a radar detector but from what I'm reading I'm not sure if they are worth the $400

No offense taken, I can afford the ticket, it just royally sucks, LOL. And I dont anticipate getting tickets (I guess no one does really) but it's all good, I'm selling my HFC's and wheel spacers, all should be good (and I do have backup money for emergencies, but speeding ticket isn't really an emergency)

How's Edmonton? I actually was born in Calgary!

really sux to have to sell mods for a ticket  I guess taking that approach is more punishing to yourself then just paying it. Next time you speed you'll be asking yourself what mod your endangering haha.

Edmonton is good, i grew up in texas so i'm pretty new to the area still, but I like it up here and I enjoy living in canada.

For non-laser/LIDAR, yes! My old Passport 8500 still warns me up to 3mi almost with K and Ka bands (which is what's used out here).

My only issue with it is that it doesn't filter anything - there are light cameras at some lights (just to see if cars are at the light, etc.) that set this thing off like crazy.

If another car has one of the cheapo Cobra's and such, it picks up Ka from that some how.

I turn on my HIDs, it will sometimes read laser. Same with punching the gas it falsely reads laser.

Didn't you give them your convincing "I'm not a terrorist" speech?!

It's all good, next time, hopefully never, I'll just dip into my reserve money...

I was actually more raised in CA, and was in Texas for about a year and half, now back in CA to take care of my family... (Gramps is like 86 and has hard core dementia and Alzheimer's, and mom has gone to the hospital several times recently and has had several surgeries)

What always trips me out about going back to Canada (Not the French parts) is that the people are SOOOOO DAMN NICE... LOL
