Hey, since you're out of state might want to check into this stuff:

Do Out of State Speeding Tickets Follow You To Your State?

My friend got pulled over with me in Ohio when we were driving across the country, both of us were NJ residents at the time. He had to pay a fine but didn't get points.

Hmmmmm... Kinda weird scenario, I moved FROM CA to TX, and my one ticket was found by the insurance company... So... Yeahhhh... I'm hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst...

Good luck man

Fudge! I got my first speeding ticket of my life today. (and I'm 31)

65 in a 60 (I was going a little over 70, but he knocked it down, I guess because I was nice and didn't try and ******** him.

I was on the way to a client meeting that was friggin 60 miles away, and he was posted up beside his cycle on the freeway using radar. He saw me, pointed at me, and pointed at the shoulder. I abided before he was even on his bike.

65 in a 60, what kind of moronic ticket is that??? You can't dispute it and say c'mon its FIVE over!!! Good luck on your ticket though! I hope you don't have to sell bits of your car to cover the price of the ticket like I do

15 over, hire a lawyer and let him get it reduced to 9 over. then there are no insurance points. see if you can request a prayer for judgement, if you haven't used it in the past 3 years. hiring a lawyer will save you in the long run. i should know i've had 7 tickets in less than 3 years but my Z is yellow...

Looks like I'm moving to NC, in CA a ticket is a point, regardless of mph over or under the speed limit.
I think Texas has something similar to what you're talking about. But I am 100% sure CA doesn't operate like that, we have a no frills ticketing system any moving violation counts as a point if you lose in court

Who wants to PayPal the broke student to help pay for his ticket?!?!?! Lol
But expect a few items to go on sale... Berk HFC's to go first...

it's not your fault brutha... Gang-bangers shooting innocents in drive-by's and this a-hole is out there with a radar gun collecting the county corporate tax... It's not done for safety brutha. It's profits... So how much???

You need to get a radar my Z compadre. :tiphat:

We can plead deferred adjudication up to 20mph over the speed limit. This means... plead no contest, don't speed for 3 months and it will never go on your record. You get stopped a second time within the 3 months and both hits go on your record. It's a game.
Option two... Plead no contest. Take a drivers-ed class. Probation is 12 months with the same deal as deferred. The most you save in doing drivers ed is $30.
So i choose defrred and save myself 9 months of bullshyt. Don't believe the hype. Radars work!!!!

:tiphat: Thanks for the TX info... I have a radar detector, but he was using LIDAR, and right when it went off I slammed on the brakes... And I just saw him put the LIDAR gun away and he just got on the bike, waited for me, I even acknowledged him and pointed to the parking lot right after the intersection...

I'm wondering if it is possible to win the ticket by saying, I was in the far right lane going 35-40 which is a speed that the officer indicated was a safe speed to travel and there was a parked FedEx truck with flashers on blocking the right lane (No parking is allowed on that lane at that time of day), and no one was letting me in, (the officer even said, "I know no one was probably letting you in, but 57 is just a bit too fast[I wouldn't include this part in the argument]") and at that moment I was too close to hitting the truck to hit the brakes and I decided to accelerate because I saw and opening because someone ahead of me was letting me in...

Any lawyers out there that think this can win on trial by written declaration???

DEpointfive0 09-13-2012 08:39 AM

Oh yeah, my car is blue... And moronically loud, especially when you punch it to merge over to get into a small gap before you nail a FedSex truck

There are some weird loop holes out there regarding speed traps/speed surveys that can likely get you out of the ticket even though you were 100% at fault. Do some googling, my buddy used to use this basic outline from a motorcycle forum he found and it worked wonders. He's literally gotten out of 3 speeding tickets and they were much further above the speed limit.

Yeah, there is some random loophole that says you can momentarily speed up to change lanes... Which I did... Although I punched it

No, it's not that at all. It has to do with road surveys being out dated. It's really strange. Trying googling for it, it'll be worth your time.

Yep, I got that down too, Hermosa Beach doesn't have it online, so I have to go to their city hall and request it from them, which is A-OK by me if it saves me $$$
