Your initial path of least resistance is leading to you overpaying. The worth of the sport package is $3300 american, probably $5k canadian?? You can do the translation of currency? Seperate, this the cost of the sport pkg
akebono brakes = $3,700
vicious limited slip = $2,000
sport rims = $2,160
sport tires= $1,300
rear spoiler =$400
chin spoiler= $110

grand total= $9670

if you're not going to buy a sport pkg and want to upgrade? Be prepared to pay out. So lets calculate the sport pkg used
akebono used $1600+
120 for lines+
250 for shytty used pads+
$80 for fluid = $1950/not including install.

Used limited slip $900
used sport rims $1200
used tires 60% tread life $600
used rear spoiler $250 and possibly may need paint? Up to $400
used chin spoiler= $70

grand total= approx $5000 or more american used.

You pay out the azz for going half-azz. You do the math.

Akebono Brakes = $3,700 $1,800
Vicious Limited slip = $2,000 $1,200 for a true LSD
Sport Rims = $2,160
Sport Tires= $1,300
Rear spoiler =$400
Chin spoiler= $110

Grand Total= $9670

If you're not going to buy a sport pkg and want to upgrade? Be prepared to pay out. So lets calculate the sport pkg used
Akebono used $1600+ $800-900
120 for lines+ You don't need new lines
250 for shytty used pads+ New pads are about $120
$80 for fluid = $1950/not including install.

used limited slip $900 $700
used sport rims $1200 $800
used tires 60% tread life $600 $400
used rear spoiler $250 and possibly may need paint? up to $400
used chin spoiler= $70

Grand total= approx $5000 or more american USED.

It's not as big as you make it seem, but the sports package is a real bargain if that's what you want initially. You're also forgetting that the car does come with brakes, wheels and tires, so there is a slight offset in cost when you compare them. My advice, and pretty much my path, is to get some life out of the wheels, tire and base brakes before upgrading to the Akebono's. It's also pretty common to see people go with alternatives. The VLSD isn't really anything special. For $3,500, you can get an aftermarket wheel & tire set up to your liking. People upgrade to better brakes than the Akebono's, better tires than the Potenzas, throw away the chin spoiler and swap hatches so they don't have holes to fill when they want to buy an aftermarket spoiler. I guess my point is, I don't think he's going for a sports package conversion...just a brake upgrade.
