If you are going to try and show off in front of your friends by doing a donut in a parking lot, make sure that you don't forget to turn VDC off first...or embarrassing moments will follow.
Thank you for your time. That is all. |

Could be worse....could have gone to do a burnout and launched in reverse?
No, I havent done that before... I think my most embarrassing thing was when I burned out at the strip and rolled through the staging lights without realizing it, so I just kept slowly rolling forward waiting to see the staging lights go off...when I realized I was a good 10 feet PAST them, the burnout boy ran up and signaled be back. God I felt dumb...

I did that once in college, I had a Ram air WS6 and everyone was begging me to do donuts. So tried to break her lose and was going in very slow circles. Then I figured it out ah...traction control was on. Then the real show started. I think everyone has been there atleast once.

I did the whole trying to do donuts with TC on thing with my old Mustang.
But I have a better story. At a packed Test & Tune at VMP I was next in line to make a run. Since I was on street tires I drove around the waterbox and lined the car up for my dry-hop to clean the tires, but there was a delay with the car infront, so I waited there in the right lane. Finally, the cars ahead ran and I was cleared to do my burnout. I rev the engine and pop the clutch to briefly spin the tires only to hurl off to the right and almost into the wall. I stopped the car and stalled it about 1 foot from the wall. While I was waiting for the cars ahead to go I forgot to straighten the wheel out before the burnout. Pretty embarassing because there were a good 500 people in the stands for the first T&T of the season. :O

I did the opposite the first time I spun up my stock tires at the drag strip. I *thought* I had accidentally run past the lights, but I hadn't. So then I put it in reverse and backed up pointlessly about 10 feet, then sat there another 5-10 seconds, then finally realized the lights were way up in front of me still. The whole time the other guy's sitting between the staging lights waiting on me thinking "wtf is this guy doing?".

Any of you guys have a link to that video of the two ricers trying to street race at the strip? It was some sky blue civic and I think a dark blue VW. They were desperately slow and complete idiots... it was hilarious.
They pulled past the tree and stopped and started revving at each other. LOL.
