Piggyback ecu
 

All I have is the full hks hi power catback exhaust system... I was thinking of putting a stand alone management system, piggy back need more info and help.

First off I'm not sure if you want a stand alone or piggy back... they are both entirely different. Secondly you will have issues since stand alones don't support VVEL. A piggyback generally could leave VVEL intact however I fail to see any benefit as you are very lightly modded (and probably still wouldn't with heavy modding). The best thing for our cars is UpRev. Piggybacks are IMO for cars without any real quality tuning options. Standalones are for full race cars since they are very difficult (advanced) to tune and still probably not necessary/recommended on a 370.

Unless you're a Nissan engineer who knows exactly how VVEL works, you'll pay top dollar for a good standalone and it will sit there doing nothing, just looking pretty and doing what the stock ECU would be doing. Standalone engine management is good for motors for which there exists no stock mapping, such as hybridized EJ motors (251 NA heads on the FI blocks like the 257) in Subaru's, where the flow pattern is so high the ECU has no idea what is going on, especially when it was programmed for comparatively poor flowing turbo heads. I've heard you can do the same thing with the 35HR heads on the 37. That might warrant a standalone, if you also slap on a twincharged setup and run custom cams.

Generally speaking, standalone engine management is probably best left for race cars.

Best bet, given available tuning options, would be UpRev.
