When I was doing research before I bought my Z most of the negative reviews make minor issues sound much worse than they really are. Like the engine tones- most reviews claimed that the car makes horrific growls. Personally, I like the way my car sounds. I also happen to disagree with the cars that Consumer Reports and Edmunds rated as the best in class. One of them ranked the Challenger as a top pick. I had the misfortune of driving one the other day, and in my biased opinion I was confused on how it got the title of sports car. It handles worse than a mini van, was the size of a small tank, and felt like it had less power than the Charger. And it was ranked better than the Z?

The magic envelope makes everything possible. I bet with the right dough a bicycle can even top the Z.

Hey guys i drove the car hard as hell today and the temps stayed at 220:tup:

Speed bumps in my parking structure are brutal, but im getting thumbups and stares from guys in Maseratis,CTS-V, M3,C63 AMG's... It feels good man for a 32K car.

:iagree: i paid about that for mine, and I've enjoyed the performance as well as the compliments I've received. It's fun to own

Been in a BMW before but driving the Z given the performance and sports car feel nothing compares probably the closest one is the Cayman but with a 20K difference on sticker. Its a no brainer.

Matthew de Paula wanted to be an automotive journalist ever since reading his first car magazine in grade school. After a brief stint writing about finance, he helped launch ForbesAutos.com and became the site's editor in 2006. Matthew now freelances for various outlets.

Big *** B.S site editor. At least should drove all those cars before even think to write down anything. Retards

There are a dozen cars that are better suited for drift over the Z. But i applaud your enthusiasm. :ugh2:

Yeah but the flipside is... Some of you guys have a couple problems with your car, and begin the self loathing for making the Z purchase. Then you expect the rest of us to lose enthusiasm. And all of a sudden, If we don't have any problems with our cars and are enjoying them... We are either:

1. Not driving our cars hard enough to have problems
2. We are making up or exaggerating our positive experiences
3. Plain old being fanboys.

I personally have been called a fanboy when i like cars out there equal to or more than the Z. Cars like the Corvette GS/Z06, GTR Porsche cayman, 135i,Mistsubishi EVO, subaru sti, and gencoupe 2.0

the Z imho opinion ties with the 135 and evo while is slightly eclipsed by the vette, GT-R and cayman. I rank the rest right below but all are close. The vette eclipses them all on a track and if we fo 911 and R8 status... thats a whole new game.

Fanboys can't see beyond what they drive. Many of us love our Z's first. there's nothing wrong with that. but we love other cars too. We are in our Z's. We respect and love other cars. But it doesn't mean we gotta suck someone's **** either for having something different. and guys that tend to call out FANBOY alot suck alot of other car ****... Self loathing- Reverse Fanboys.'

It is what it is...

I am not saying you are right or wrong, I am just saying you need to lay off the kool-aid as not all reviewers/journalists are 100% wrong. They just happen to not agree with you. It is what it is.

I guess somewhere in your reading you didn't read this part.

"I'm not saying there isn't any realism to most of the Z's issues. But other cars never get this much bad press when there are cars with more issues. BMW, Audi, Mitsubishi and hyundai have seen more reliability issues in there sports cars. Where's the laundry list on there complaints???"

I know there's realism to what they say and in 65% of cases they are not wrong... Just exaggerating most of it. And thats a fact. I've seen em do it to hyundai against the camaro. The Corvette etc... but im talking specifically about a particular pattern thats unique with Z articles...

There are lazy writers out there, it is what it is. It doesn't mean lazy writers are 100% wrong on everything they say, or that 100% of writers are lazy.

Well, the point is, I don't get what you're trying to say.

It's actually pretty ridiculous, because the bad press for the Z only started recently. When the 370Z debuted, it was universally hailed as a crowning achievement for Nissan. Critics are quick to pedal back on their words and it's annoying as all f-ing hell.

I used to be in the press side of things, and this recent dislike for the car is pretty laughable.

The point is... "Self-Loathing Reverse Fanboyism" never has a point. Just an argument

Here in the land of make believe, we are going to learn a new phrase... Lets all say the new phrase of the week boys and girls...

"SELF-LOATHING
REVERSE
FANBOYISM."

Now lets sing...
won't you be my... won't you be my... won't you be, my neighbor!!!

Builds straw man, then attacks straw man with what he claims is wrong with straw man.

Perpetrators lols.

Tapatalk & such etc

I honestly didn't read any of the articles to say if they are right or wrong. I am just saying they can't all be wrong all the time. They must have some points that they are correct. Subjective opinions should be taken as such, don't over analyze it.
