I'm convinced that most of the reviewers out there are incapable of accurately reviewing sports cars. When I was doing research before I bought my Z most of the negative reviews make minor issues sound much worse than they really are. Like the engine tones- most reviews claimed that the car makes horrific growls. Personally, I like the way my car sounds. I also happen to disagree with the cars that Consumer Reports and Edmunds rated as the best in class. One of them ranked the Challenger as a top pick. I had the misfortune of driving one the other day, and in my biased opinion I was confused on how it got the title of sports car. It handles worse than a mini van, was the size of a small tank, and felt like it had less power than the Charger. And it was ranked better than the Z?

i agree, who cares what the everyone else says. if you want a car. preferably a SPORTS car. get it if you want it and like it.

if you dont want this this this and this happening, well then buy the things that prevent it ( Oil Cooler exc) i bought the car purely off of " i want a sports car, i love the feel and the way the 370z looks, THATS my car." other's there are other sports cars out there, but for the money i paid/am paying for it being a SPORTS car, i wanted it to not only have power but LOOK the part. i test drove a mustang v8 with 417 hp and yea it had the power but it didnt have that "look"....... if you know what i mean..... theres a certain look and feel a sports car has when you get in one or see one that lets you know yea thats a sports car...... and for the price the Z was it for me. i bought my car solely of out " i want a sports car. a car with a look and feel of a sports car." I agree! I've got about $1200 in upgrades in mine and have everything taken care of except for the most extreme race situation. Granted oil cooler is a little week but car didn't go over 230 all summer.

For me, I'd rather put 1.2k in upgrades rather than pay an extra 20- 30k for the car.

Honestly, they're not targeting the 370Z. It's their honest opinion and their job.

The 370Z is not perfect, but we love them and that is all that matters.

I think maybe the 370z looks better than it drives. I thought this was true of the Nismo after test-driving it. Good rather than Great.

I think that just how it is in reality. Great things or people will always get pick on by haters. Just like Kobe Bryant and Lebron James. Easily should be consider two of the all time great players ever play the game of basketball. But will always get negative comments said about them.

I'm pretty sure the reviewers are not "hating" on the Z... They just don't like it and we are obviously bias.

Why would they find things to complain about or exaggerate over... These are serious issues with the z in my opinion. 2012 oil cooler is a joke. I have 3100 miles on a 2012 z and just a 50 mile trip on a hot summer day is bringing temps to 230-240 casual driving.. Basically no way is this going to be a car you push without at least 1500-2000 in mods. Already paying 35-40k for the car. It's a niche car, not a smart buy for most people.

I love the car though don't get me wrong, looks are very very important and not many can top the 370z looks.

Or maybe they're not paid up the wazhoo like Ford and Toyota to like certain cars.

I mean, the only thing Nissan advertise the Z about is their "win this car" brochures and "go from a Z to a Maxima when you have a family" commercial.

Let me make you guy feel better, not a sports car but just use this as a comparision,
2008-10 honda accords:

rear pads wear out in 10-15k
4 cyl oil consumption issues
vtc actuator issues
key fob module issues
xm receiver issue

06-09 civics:

engine blocks crack
motor mounts are junk
front pads 15-20k(some lower)
wheel bearings
low idle issue
rev hang on si's

These are just a few, very few issues, the lists go on and longerfor some models.
NOTHING is perfect, and stuff breaks or has design flaws, just hte way it is.

even with all the crap I read on 350zs, I bough one, only real issue were the window motors.

I sold my 350z, and I am buying a 370z, but now I know the problems and how to avoid or fix them now.

i don't and won't take much stock in anything these wanna be weekend race car drivers/ hack writers say most of the time......

imho it's how the car preforms over the long haul and how dependable it is during that time NO car is perfect..... but these wanna be Jimmy Johnson's
take these cars out and drive them like they stole em. then another set get in
and do the same thing over and over. i don't care what car you test if you kick it in the xxx enough it will fail.........................

my experience 09 47,000 miles never a failure. no oil burning or over heating....
no rattles car is as tight as the day i bought it with 3 miles on it......

and i redline the gears at least once or twice a week just because i can....

sorry to ramble......................

American car and bike magazines suck balls, the British ones are so much better and honest. If road and track along with car and driver ever picked the "cheaper" car in a comparison they would never be given a car to drive from BMW, Audi, Honda and the other *** kissers. examples are the GT mustang versus the M3 and the cayman S versus the Z , plus others.

I'm not sure bias is the right word. We all spent $25k to $45k to buy a car we thought was great. That doesn't make us bias but it pretty clearly demonstrates that there are a lot of car people out there that think these reviewers don't know what they're talking about.

Just because some C+ journalism student gets a job at a car magazine, it doesn't make him an instant expert on cars.
