Default Genesis Vs. 370Z

Now don't get me wrong,...I am NOT buying this thing and don't believe I will ever buy a Hyundai.
BUT
This thing has HP above 300, a 6 SPD Manual, RWD, and is priced Fully loaded below a base 370Z and 10K below a fully loaded 370Z.

With Hyundai gaining a better and better reputation, it makes me wonder.

Will the Genesis give the 370Z some competition?
10K can buy a lot of mods and easily 30hp.

Genesis vs. 370Z? Well, Phil Collins is pretty awesome, but I don't think he quite has the vocal horsepower to compete with the Z. I mean, "In the Air Tonight" was killer, but then they went and did "Groovy Kind of Love". Lord have mercy.

I crack myself up.

SERIOUSLY though, it's not a straight up fight, once again. The Hyundai gives up 200lbs to the Nissan, along with 25-ish horsepower. It does have price going for it, at least a little bit, but that seems to be it for me. Styling wise, I'd pick the Z and its 240Z-emotive looks over the Hyundai's Accord coupe "ctrl+c/ctrl+v" attempt any day of the week.

I lol'ed here at work! It actually does.

Genesis just doesn't do it for me. It can have 400 HP but it's just not as classy or elegant as the 370Z (or even 350Z). It reminds me of any other 2 door 4 seater (i.e. eclipse, cobalt etc). It's kinda like comparing G37 with G6 coupe. The luxury, heritage, and refinement you'll find in a Z, that'll never be in that Hyundai. This is of course MY opinion

Essentially "You can't polish a turd."

I'm just curious if its pricing will detract from people that want New, RWD, and above 300hp, but can't afford a 370Z.

Its is an ugly dog though, whats with the slapped on Elantra front bumper?

jajajjajaja you guys!!!!

Well, don't think that the Genesis Coupe will give problems to the 370z.

But it is clear that Hyundai need a car like this to gain more ground. They did a great job with the Genesis Sedan.

Anyway, 370z, imo, will be better car in every aspect.

With the current economy I CAN see people buying it. But, I don't think a true Z enthusiast will go near that car. How are reviews on the car?

Also how come all Hyundai's looks like it's copied from other vehicle??? Sonata looks like Honda accord, Elantra looks like VW Jetta and the new accent is a exact molding copy of the corolla

Quick answer? Corollas, Accords and Jettas are better looking cars and Hyundai is taking cues.

Here's a question, Why does the 2008-2009 Honda Accord sedan look like a late model Saturn sedan?

They are going to sell very well. I dont think anyone in their right mind would ever buy one of those if they can also afford a Z. Not even close.

Horrible!!! On par with the Z performance wise, but no where near quality or style. Yes it is 10k cheaper, but there is no way I'd spend 20-25k on a damn Korean made junker. It's like the old joke, "Whats the difference between a Jehovah's witness and a Hyundai?" you can slam the door on a Jehovah's witness.

They are not going to be on par performance wise. the Genesis has 30 less hp and 300lbs extra.

Hyundai is starting to make some good cars with good prices, not to mention some lame styling, but still........at the end of the day, if you where to ask ppl what is one bad thing about Hyundai, everyone would say "IT'S A HYUNDAI !!"....there reputation is still in the drain and has to be flushed out to start fresh.......hahahahahaha.......

(what a cheesy comment i made at the end)

This is funny. This same topic was posted on my350z not long ago.
Honestly, the Genisis will do ok in it's own world. It will sell to those kiddies who can't afford a 370Z.
But at the end of the day the 370Z is still the better car.
