Hey guys,
I've been lurking around the forum reading about the 370z and I figured I'd add to this discussion. I recently returned from South Korea about a month ago and spoke to people living there who have done hands on reviews of the car. I have not heard one person who had hands on experience with the car(who was knowledgeable) that enjoyed the car completely. Now don't get me wrong for the money it may be a great buy. To get down to it...They told me the shifts were far from smooth, there was excess noise coming from the windshield while driving, the smaller engine was not powerful but the larger engine felt too much for the cars platform to control. They drove both the automatic and manual. When working with the auto they tried to drive tiptronic but the car still shifted for them and shifting times were very off. The thing I thought the most amazing was the brembo's. They weren't really sure why but the brembo breaks were shaven down on the sides. They thought it might have been done to reduce noise?(no clue). Also, many drivers in South Korea favor a soft suspension...And it was said that the Genesis also has too soft of a suspension. Now keep in mind the person who reviewed the car...The auto version was given by Hyundai to review and then he borrowed a friends manual to test. This was done by a website that reviews cars online in Korea. I hope I was able to add to the discussion. Last edited by Nick911sc; 02-02-2009 at 04:00 PM. |

Anyway, many manufacturers have had issues throughout history. I know Hyundai will some day be a "socially acceptable" brand here in the U.S. It may be a little while, but they'll get there. Last edited by G&M Performance; 02-02-2009 at 05:12 PM. |

Someone at gencoupe got 360hp from a V6 by just turning off ECU limiter, intake & exhaust, and premium fuel.
With prices estimated at 20k for I4 and 25k for V6, there's a good chance it'll steal the spotlight from the 370z as far as bang for buck performance goes. |

LMAO
but you are right. it does resemble a penis shape. i guess they did not see that when designing the car. i think they both look nice. i heard somewhere that the transmission on the hyundai was pretty good, something called ZF (please pardon my car lingual). but i can see why it's attractive. the price point is pretty good for a coupe and it does have have horsepower, just not as much as the Z. IT seems you just got the bad apple. It goes for everything you buy. Especially anything that is electronic. It just happens and of course it sucks. They make so many of them and sooner or later a bad one will com out. That's what i'm afraid of. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to me when I get my new car (possibly 370Z).

Sorry to see that. Looks like you have bad luck or Hyundai really dropped the ball on a line or two...
