I love the look of the 370z sport(the wheels, rear spoiler, and every panel on the car blend so well.) Base model looks plain but it's probably just the wheels.

Anyone else find the '13's to look generic like a base 350z?

Base model looks plain but it's probably just the wheels. Then comes the 2013 model and changes the looks of the exterior. I find it horrendous. Front bumper is ugly, it ruins the entire car. I was never a fan of the 350's, but like I said the 370z sport with the little spoiler looks almost perfect, especially in pearl white. And I'm usually not a fan of this color it just looks so good on this car though |

I really think the 13 look is a little more toward subtle than a sports car. The fangs on the current model give a really aggressive look and match the sharp lines of the car. The rounded look of the front bumper doesn't compliment the car in my opinion.

everyones got their own opinion of it. In fact theres been a few threads about this topic already.
Some of you love the fangs. some of us did everything we could to make them disappear. Some loved the 350z look, some didnt. Obviously, someone thought it looked good and so they made it. Not everyones going to love it. |

I agree but i also think the 09-12 Sport package wheels are ugly and prefer no spoiler for a cleaner look. Just like how im sure some people dont like the fangs. Its good to have options of different model years.

Personally, I liked the fangs. Someone said "catfish", but that sounds like envy to me. It really says GTFO. Anyhow, I really dig LEDs too, and agree that the 2013 is more subtle. My base coupe really appeals to my design sense (though not quite under the radar, either). On the other extreme, the NISMO is overwrought -- trying too hard, though I believe all changes are truly functional.

No I don't, think it looks like good. Just got to except mid cycle changes, can't stay to what we have gotten use to forever. As far as the 350 goes it and the 370 look 75 to 80% the same, just don't understand why so many claim to hate the 350's look but love the 370's..... That's why so many call our 370's 350's......

Not Missing anything
Although I haven't seen a 13 in person the changes don't impress me I'm glad I've got a 09 with sport in blue. The 350z looked good when it first came out but I lost interest in it after a while. I never lost interest in the old 300ZX [90-96] I almost bought one. I'll have to wait for the next generation to see what Nissan comes up with.

I don't mind too much either way.. a Z is a Z is a sexy is a Z to me. they all look hawt, but I do find the 09-12 sport package with spoiler + fangs + rims look 'perfect'. maybe cuz mine is still relatively new to me.. but I've looked around a bit and have yet to see any aftermarket body kits or rims that make me go "wow that would make my Z look so much better."
now with the LED headlights/running lights. personally I think it looks pretty tacky on the Audi's that I noticed started it.. and even on the Porsches that followed. and now they're on our Z's. I guess certain fads I just never understood or got on board with.. like clear tail lights for all those years back in the late 90's/early 2000's lol |

I'm pretty positive if there was a vote for the sexiest wheels on a production car, the 09-12 370z would be up there. Honestly the wheels make the car! The redesign of the 13's is a bit of a disappointment, the made the gaps on the end of the rims wider, so its less aggressive - biggest flaw really is the bumper though.
I do like the red calipers though.. |

I take the totally opposite opinion and think it is a gorgeous car. I think your opinion must be in the minority. As a 13 Sport owner, I'm surprised how many people have come up to me and given me compliments on my car. I was also pleasantly surprised today when a Scion FRS drove by and gave me the thumbs up! Pretty cool stuff for a horrendous and ugly car. |

I use to think the same way. When the '13's first debuted at the Chicago Auto Show, I thought it looked weird without the fangs. But when I went down to the dealer to look at them, they didnt look so bad. I think you need to see the car in person to really appreciate the new look. But thats just me!

I am not too fond of it, but could get used to it. Unfortunately I'll have to change the rims, because they are atrocious.
But, the only option I have to get a new '12 is to have it shipped from Vegas, as that's the closest one. There's not a Base + Sport '12 6MT in all of Arizona. And no '13s yet, 3mo. order the dealerships told me, though one of them didn't even know there was any physical differences between the two model years. |
