When i was 21, i realized how much it sucked living with the parents and i would continue to do so if i kept spending money on cars.... So, i decided to downgrade to a beater car, i had a house built, worked my *** off, paid off my house before i turned 26. A week after i paid off my mortgage, i bought my 370z as a reward to myself! Its definitley worthwhile to own a house before a car... That way you have the freedom to park and work on your car in your OWN garage.

Own the house outright, and my 2009 z is almost paid for

I have a nice size home and a large second house in the mountains as I love too board. Looking at a 3rd this weekend but it will be the size of a closet by the ocean (a tiny closet, so small that the sink doubles as the shower)

As far as living with your parents. Good for you guys, nothing wrong with that, I had to move on my own at 16 with nothing but a foot in the rear out the door. I would of done anything to be able to stay at home or should I say have a home to stay in. My kids can live in our home forever if they like (I'll be out Sailing the world anyway at that point )

And that is most important! You're home is the most important investment you will ever make. Its value may go up and down but in the long run you'll always prosper. Car's as much as I love them are never good for the savings account (but they sure make me happy)

No regrets my friend. Everything happens for a reason and every closed door opens another.

Thanks though

PS. I'm not that nice, I just play a nice guy on TV HAHAAHA

I dropped it back off at RAW today. They are trying to knock it out tomorrow afternoon. Fixing that bump on the nose where the fill bubbled for some reason and polishing the tinted taillights. Should be done pretty quick and then I'll get that video, promise!

PS Tyrell, not to threadjack but we have a bit in common. I was born in Melbourne, AUS. Went back a few times since. Real father lived in Esperance which is South of Perth, went to visit him too (A-hole). He now lives in NZ.

My really good mate (goes by Red) Runs the Suzuki race team in NZ and the back of team for Australia. Guy supported my bike shop back in the day.

Great country, may take the family out there in the next year or two to visit, pretty special place. Have some Fish and Chips for me, maybe even a meat pie with Sauce inside...miss that junk food

We bought our first house six years ago this month. Moving from apt to apt got old. We have a small place (1500 sq. ft.) but it's all we need. Except for the garage that is. A one car garage is not enough. Somehow I have the car, motorcycle, tool bench, freezer, heavy bag and a bunch of other stuff in there. No room to work on the car in there so that happens outside. I would love a bigger garage. Next house will be similar in size but with a three car garage, no make that four car garage

Hmmmm.. I like the States.. politics and taxes are lacking and they sure try to take the wealthier people down unlike AUS where they embrace it. Moves much faster and Americans thrive on stress where Aussie's seem to embrace a little more personal time and relaxation. I don't sleep much, very high energy and don't know what to do without stress so I'm a little out of place in Aussie land.

I'm here, so that says something but I miss dim sims, sausage rolls and meat pies. I also miss the small gestures that are made such as G'day, Cheers, that sort of thing. They seem 2nd nature when your there but here its a little more cold. People say Hi, how are you? but I'm quite sure its an empty request... in fact I often wonder why they ask.

Its a good place mate, I've been here so long you'd never know I was born abroad. Coolest thing about the States, its a ton of different nationalities living together, most embrace it. If you ever come out this way make sure you let me know, would be cool to show you around! (the good parts anyway)

In this economy, here in the Charleston area, you can steal a beach house if you go to one of the smaller community beaches about 30 to 45 minutes away ......... they have that small town beach character feel anyway. (and they are decent sq. footage)

Yeah, we're kind of screwed in CA that way. Just opened a building in NC, guy I sent out there to run it said he can live close to the ocean for cheap. Cold as heck but he's liking it thus far (only been a month)
